Teen Mom 2’s Leah Messer opened up and revealed the significance of her daughter Ali’s medical biopsy. She lives with muscular dystrophy. The little girl has grown up on TV and fans have watched her flourish, even with the diagnosis.

In 2011, MTV aired a follow-up to their hit series called Teen Mom 2. Messer was one of four mothers who were once again documented by cameras. The West Virginia native was a pregnant cheerleader in high school. At just 17, she gave birth to twin daughters, Aliannah and Aleeah. Ali had been diagnosed with Titin Muscular Dystrophy. The young mother showed her vulnerable side as she prepared to raise twins a bit differently. But all three of her young daughters have flourished, and fans just love watching their stories.

To help MTV fans understand the medical procedure, the mother of three wrote, If her biopsy responds positively, it could potentially unlock doors for many others.” The 29-year-old has been very open about the family’s medical struggles, including a breast cancer scare this season on the hit show. Messer also shared that she partnered with a nonprofit organization called Cure Rare Disease. The group focuses on raising money for rare neuromuscular diseases. The MTV personality didn’t waste any time as she asked for fans to think of social media trends like the Ice Bucket Challenge or a color run.

Messer has always spoken highly of her daughter, who remains positive in her day-to-day life. Teen Mom fans will recall Ali started to get tired from walking and now uses a motorized wheelchair to help combat it. Viewers often find her story inspiring and hope that Ali is one step closer to helping find a cure.
