Teen Wolf is, of course, primarily about teenagers. These specific teens are able to get away with a lot more shenanigans than regular teenagers. Viewers may wonder why their parents let them run wild around Beacon Hills, but the truth is that a lot of the child characters don’t have present parents. Guardians are either neglectful, murderous, or have died prior to the show’s beginning.

However, there are some parents that are as integral to the cast as their children. These parents are caring, supportive, and often save the day in the fight against the supernatural.

8 Peter Hale

Peter Hale may have been a murderous psychopath, which is why he is ranked the lowest, but he definitely wasn’t the worst father in Beacon Hills. When Malia is revealed to be his daughter in season three, he is eager to connect with her.

Peter helps the protagonists out for her, and in doing so Peter practically becomes a protagonist himself, as it is their bond that allows Peter to break free from the Ghost Riders. Peter is also much nicer to Malia than her mother, the Desert Wolf, is, as she tries to kill Malia and steal her powers. So Peter absolutely seems the lesser of two evils.

7 David Whittemore

Jackson’s rich adopted parents provide Jackson with everything he wants, and they also try to lessen the constant pressure that Jackson puts on himself. When Jackson is imprisoned by Scott and Stiles, David figures out that his son is missing from a supposed text message from Jackson that his phone has been stolen, since that isn’t the way he usually texts. He clearly knows his son.

He is ranked lower as many of his actions cause Jackson to run rampage as the Kanima. Also once he realizes that Jackson has become a were-creature, he immediately sends him away to London, which doesn’t seem very supportive.

6 Talia Hale

Talia Hale is the matriarch of Beacon Hill’s most notorious werewolf family. In the short moments that the series flashes back to her, viewers can see that she is a kind and wise mother, and considers childbirth to be a gifted miracle. She gives her son Derek support during one of the most traumatic incidents of his life, and keeps the family close together.

She ranks relatively low as she dies before the series begins, so viewers aren’t really able to see her parental capabilities. Furthermore, she forcefully prevents Peter Hale from being able to remember his own daughter, which doesn’t seem like very maternal behavior.

5 Chris Argent

Chris ranks slightly low since at the beginning of the show he is an antagonist, and is very controlling over his daughter, Allison. Threatening to kill her boyfriend makes him a pretty bad parent for the first two seasons. But by the end of the show, Chris has had the best Argent character arc, and has become a great dad.

He changes his values for Allison, even going against the rest of the family to do so. He clearly cares about Allison, and is a lot kinder to her than her mother and grandfather. When Allison dies, he is devastated, but he honors her memory by continuing to fight for what she believed in.

4 Ken Yukimura

While Ken doesn’t have any supernatural powers, he does his best to support his supernatural wife and daughter. Unlike his wife, Ken is a lot warmer and more parental. He is understanding of the teen struggles that Kira goes through, letting her sit in his classroom at lunch when she feels lonely. Since he is a teacher, he clearly cares about kids.

Ken remains a supportive figure even after Kira leaves Beacon Hills. He stays until season six to help the pack, showing how caring of a person he is. But as he ultimately isn’t seen as much in the show as other listed parents, he doesn’t rank any higher than this.

3 Natalie Martin

Natalie is seemingly the most unaware of the town’s supernatural problem out of all the parents. However, this doesn’t stop her from trying to help Lydia when she is having a banshee breakdown in season two, including getting her daughter therapy. In season three, Natalie becomes a teacher at Lydia’s school, which Lydia doesn’t mind as the two have a clearly strong relationship.

Natalie also has a touching moment when she originally tries to help Lydia cover up an injury, but then supports Lydia when she states in an iconic quote that she doesn’t want to hide the scar. Natalie jokingly maintains that she is still going to do Lydia’s hair, which is mother-daughter bonding at its finest.

2 Melissa McCall

Melissa works incredibly hard as a nurse and a single parent, and does her best to support her son through all of his teenage and werewolf problems. She gives great advice and is incredibly understanding, even when she likely shouldn’t be. Melissa is witty and has some great quotes, but she is also so motherly that Scott’s best friend Stiles occasionally calls her mom.

She would likely be first on this list, if it weren’t for the brief week after she finds out that Scott is a werewolf, as she barely speaks to him and treats him like a monster, which isn’t exactly a great way for a parent to treat their child.

1 Noah Stilinski

Sherriff Noah Stilinski is one of the most beloved Teen Wolf characters. He struggles as a single father to a child that is as wild as Stiles, but he is consistently loving. He supports Stiles at lacrosse games, and doesn’t even want to be angry with Stiles after he causes Noah to lose his job.

When Stiles has been kidnapped by Gerard and Noah is desperately searching for him, it’s hard to watch, because he cares about his son so much. Furthermore, the moment when he forgets Stiles due to the Ghost Riders is perhaps one of Teen Wolf’s most shocking moments, which is a testament to how strong the pair’s bond is.
