Her mission (apparently) is to restore her family name by defeating a magical girl. Unfortunately for Yuuko, the local magical girl is Momo Chiyoda, a schoolmate with incredible physical strength. With reluctance, Yuuko decides to meekly follow her ancestor’s advice and defeat the magical girl, no matter how many failures it takes.

Aharen Is Indecipherable

With over 42,000 members on MAL, a lot of rom-com fans are excited about this stoic-faced pair. Reina Aharen is a high schooler who is pretty bad at things like “socializing” and “personal space.” Reina doesn’t have any issues being inches away from someone’s face when asking for simple things.

Observing her is the equally peculiar Raidou Matsuboshi, a tall boy with an overactive imagination. His face may seem intimidating, but he’s actually a kind boy who spends more time daydreaming than actually studying. A peculiar friendship forms between the two as they try to understand each other’s oddities.

Ascendance Of A Bookworm – Season 3

The latest season of the anime community’s favorite bookworm boasts over 45,000 members on MAL, and Urano’s literary adventures continue. Motosu Urano was an ordinary college student who was overjoyed at finally achieving her Librarian certification. However, a massive earthquake rocks her home, and she dies after her huge collections of books fall on top of her.

In Urano’s dying breath, she prays that wherever she ends up, she is still able to read to her heart’s content. Under her new name, Maine, she makes it her personal goal to become a librarian in this world bereft of books for the common people.

This science-themed rom-com has over 48,000 members on MAL and focuses on the tale of Shinya Yukimura, a level-headed scientist who is taken aback when his close confidant and partner, Ayame Himuro, confesses to him out of the blue. They deal with it the only way they know how, through lots of experiments and hypotheses.

This is a funny rom-com focusing on the silliness of overthinking the simple yet incomprehensibly complicated concept of love. Although feeling it is clear enough, the overly logical not-couple keeps complicating things by trying to measure their intangible feelings.

Miss Shikimori Is Not Just Cute

This cute and cool rom-com has over 69,000 members on MAL and it’s not hard to see why. The story focuses on Izumi, a high school student who is deemed “unfortunate” due to his consistently bad luck.

But this all changed the day he started dating the beautiful Shikimori, the perfect girlfriend in every respect. However, it’s the contrast of the sweet girlfriend and serious and cool boyfriend that makes Izumi fall in love with her over and over again in this comfy romantic comedy for anime fans.

Komi Can’t Communicate – Season 2

Komi-san may be struggling to get 100 friends in her show, but she’s already got over 92,000 members on MAL enraptured by her attempts at communicating before the season’s even dropped. An unexpected fourth season has already earned over 115,000 fans on MAL, who are excited for the return of this classic sci-fi anime. Date A Live focuses on Shidou Itsuka, who lives with his only family, Kotori. Despite the warnings, he finds himself caught in a spatial quake that he somehow survives. Of more interest was the appearance of a mysterious girl afterward.

As it turns out, these quakes are the results of Spirits entering the material realm, and Anti-Spirit Teams are usually sent out to destroy them. Thrown into this new world, Shidou must be able to defeat the Spirits without outright destroying them.

Spy X Family

Over 107,000 anime fans on MAL are excited for the adaptation of the much-beloved manga, Spy X Family. The story focuses on three peculiar characters leading their own secret lives. Twilight, a master spy of Westalis, is tasked with infiltrating a prestigious academy with a fake family. Although he believes his chosen wife and daughter are mundane, they are anything but.

Anya, his adoptive daughter, can read minds and is aware of everyone’s secret identities. Meanwhile, Twilight’s wife, Yor, is actually an incredibly skilled assassin who spends her daytime as an office worker. Together, these three are desperately trying to keep their secrets hidden from each other while dealing with the evil forces that plague their country.

Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War – Season 3

Boasting over 261,000 members on MAL, the third season of Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War is one of the best romantic anime and centers around the mind games between Shinomiya and Shirogane. Shinomiya Kaguya is considered the ace of the school, a prodigy in everything she touches. Her title as a Kaguya means she is also royalty, with her family owning tons of companies throughout the world.

And yet, she’s up against the equally skilled Shirogane Miyuki, a hard-working student who is the only one to have bested Kaguya in academics. Their time in the school council together has made feelings blossom, but unfortunately, neither wants to confess them for fear of being seen as the “loser” in love. So, their confession game begins, with both scheming to get the other to confess in hilariously backfiring ways.

Naofumi is aided by the demi-human slave named Raphtalia, who Naofumi began to genuinely care for after the events of the first season.
