People mostly watch movies for a couple of hours of escapism, as it’s a way to forget about everyday problems and immerse themselves in exciting, fantastical worlds or hilarious, satirical comedies. And, sometimes, those comedies are so fun that they could be on repeat and fans would never get bored of them, even when they know the dialogue word for word.

Between a surreal comedy about a bio-exorcist, a ’70s based crime-caper, and a rom-com that everybody loves, Reddit thinks these movies are easy to throw on and are endlessly rewatchable.

Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping (2016)

After the huge success of their band, The Lonely Island, and their comedy music videos, the trio of Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone followed up with Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. The movie widened their vision and turned their satire on the music industry into a much more expansive feature-length movie.

Mlsweeney champions the film and believes that “the movie doesn’t get enough love.” Though it doesn’t follow The Lonely Island (it instead follows a fictional version of the group called The Style Boyz,) it’s just as funny as any of their three-minute music videos and is massively underrated.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)

Forgetting Sarah Marshall came out at a perfect time and capitalized on the mid-2000s popularity of comedy actors Jason Segel, Paul Rudd, and Jonah Hill. But it also has an ingenious premise, as it follows a man who flies to Hawaii to get over his ex-girlfriend, only to end up staying in the same hotel as her.

Ripperz77 thinks it’s one of the most rewatchable movies because “every time it pops on TV and I come across it, I watch it.” The movie has the typical immature, boyish comedy that was popularized by Judd Apatow, and it features some of the most unique characters ever found in a romantic comedy. The fictional pop star Aldous Snow is so unique that there was even a spin-off made, Get Him to the Greek, which is also mentioned by Redditors as being endlessly rewatchable.

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World (2010)

M_s_philips cites Scott Pilgrim vs. the World as the most rewatchable comedy movie ever, arguing that they “can and have watched it dozens of times and still chuckle at all the same spots.” The action-comedy is based on a comic book, and few other movie adaptations of comic books have brought the source material to life like this 2010 movie does.

Being one of the best obscure but awesome comedies available to stream on Netflix, Scott Pilgrim follows a regular guy who must defeat a woman’s evil exes to win her over. Between its surrealism, comedy, and director Edgar Wright’s frenetic filmmaking style, it was the perfect first major Hollywood movie for him to adapt and it has become a cult classic.

Hot Fuzz (2007)

Hot Fuzz is another Wright-directed movie, only it arrived in an era before he became one of the most unique directors-for-hire in Hollywood. JohnDayguy cites what is referred to as Wright’s “Cornetto trilogy,” which is made up of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World’s End, and claims that “the whole trilogy is good, but Hot Fuzz gets first place.”

The 2007 comedy is the follow-up to Shaun of the Dead, which has a just as ridiculous premise. It follows a London police officer who gets relocated to a boring, humdrum, little village, only to find out that it’s being run by an Illuminati-like cult.

Dumb & Dumber (1994)

The Redditor is “still amazed at the comedic timing of Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe. I didn’t really expect that from either of them.” While Gosling has proved he has great comedic timing in the past, Crowe is known for his more stoic roles, but his hilarious performance in the 2016 movie was equally surprising and welcoming.

Groundhog Day (1993)

Horizonsfan cites the 1993 comedy as the most rewatchable comedy there is, explaining that “Groundhog Day is infinitely repeatable.” The Redditor might be joking around, as the movie’s premise is all about a TV field reporter who is stuck in a time-loop and has to repeat the same terrible day over and over again.

Either way, there’s no denying how great and rewatchable the movie is, and it’s one of the most entertaining Bill Murray-led movies ever. Not only that, but even though it doesn’t attempt to explain why the reporter is stuck in a time loop, it makes better use of the idea of time loops than most science fiction movies.

Bridesmaids (2011)

Zhurithebear champions the 2011 movie as being the most rewatchable, arguing that “Bridesmaids is possibly one of the funniest movies of all time.” And, in fairness, Bridesmaids was a phenomenon for so many different reasons and it still holds up today.

For starters, it was nominated for several Academy Awards, including Best Supporting Actress and Best Original Screenplay, which is such a rare achievement for an outright comedy movie.
