Funko Pops have become a hugely collectible item and most popular franchises are now getting the Pop treatment. Harry Potter fans were particularly excited when Funko partnered with the franchise back in 2015 and since then over 100 Pops have been released.

While the first few waves focused on the core characters from the series and were fairly basic sculpts, lesser characters have since been added to the collection and the Pops have become highly detailed over the years. While Pop Towns, Movie Moments, and Deluxe Pops are more expensive, there are several regular Pops that have become rare and hard to come by since their original release.

The Basilisk (Target Exclusive)

The Basilisk is essentially a giant snake but is also capable of killing anyone who looks directly at it. The Pop of this creature is particularly exciting as it is much larger than the other figures in the series.

The Pop takes up quite a lot of shelf space but it’s a must-have for any Harry Potter collection. Its green scales and yellow eyes make this Pop instantly recognizable. The figure was originally exclusive to Target and any collectors still looking to add it to their collection will have to pay an average of $55, according to the Funko app.

Rita Skeeter (SDCC 2019 Exclusive)

Funko often releases exclusive Comic-Con products. and there’s usually always at least one Harry Potter Pop in the line-up. That being said, when the Harry Potter Pop line first began, most fans wouldn’t have predicted Rita Skeeter joining the line-up.

While she’s certainly not one of the most popular characters from the series, it’s always fun for collectors to have more minor characters in their Pop collections. The Pop perfectly captures the character’s likeliness and she comes complete with her infamous Quick Quotes Quill. According to the Funko app, fans can get their hands on this Pop for an average price of $60.

Flocked Fawkes (SDCC 2019 Exclusive)

In recent years, Funko has begun releasing full-size Pops of pets from the Harry Potter series such as Fawkes, Hedwig, and Fang. While these creatures make an excellent addition to any collection, having them as full-size Pops that are the same size as their owners (or only slightly smaller) is a bit strange, especially when Funko has released to-scale pets with other Pops in the past.

However, despite the obvious sizing issues, Fawkes is a highly detailed Pop and the flames around the base of the figure are an inspired extra. Fawkes is one of the Harry Potter creatures fans would love to own which is probably what makes this Pop so highly sought after, not to mention the added flocked detail. The Funko app has the current average price of this Pop at $65.

Harry On Broom (SDCC 2017 Exclusive)

Over the years, the Harry Potter Funko Pops have become more and more detailed and the Harry Potter flying on his broom is a perfect example of this. While a Quidditch version of the titular character had already been released before this, the SDCC version has Harry sitting on his broom and catching the Golden Snitch.

Most Pops perfectly capture iconic moments and scenes but the flying action-pose of this makes it one of the most unique. Many different versions of Harry have been released at this point but this certainly stands out as one of the best. According to the Funko app, fans will have to pay an average of $65 if they want to add this Pop to their collection.

Boggart As Snape (NYCC 2017 Exclusive)

One of the best Hogwarts classroom scenes from Harry Potter is when Lupin shows his students a Boggart. Neville’s Boggart takes the form of Snape and then hilariously, Snape in his grandmother’s clothes which is the basis of this Pop.

While this scene is brief, it is one of the most memorable and it makes for an eye-catching Pop. The figure is extremely detailed, from the rabbit scarf to the vulture hat and it’s a must-have for any collector. As this is exclusive, it is one of the more expensive Pops in the range with the Funko app listing the average price at $70.

Prisoner Sirius Black (Black And White Chase)

When Sirius Black is first introduced in the movies, he is an escaped prisoner from Azkaban. A regular version of this Pop is available but this black-and-white version is based on Sirius’ wanted posters, as seen in the third movie.

Both versions of the Pop were first available from an exclusive box by Gamestop, with this chase version of course being the rarer of the two. The image of Sirius in his Azkaban uniform is now iconic and this is the only chase to date in the Harry Potter Funko Pop line. The Funko app lists the average price of this figure at $80.

Cornish Pixie, Mandrake, And Grindylow 3-Pack (SDCC 2016 Exclusive)

This three-pack of mini creatures was the first Comic-Con exclusive in the Harry Potter Pop line. All three of these creatures are featured sparingly in the movies but their unique designs make for great Pops. It’s also terrific that these smaller creatures are more to-scale with the other Pops in the line, unlike some later releases.

Unlike some other Pops which have become rare over the years, this three-pack was difficult to get even at the time of its release (especially for non-American fans). The Funko app suggests fans will have to pay an average of $95 to obtain this set of mischievous and disturbing Harry Potter magical creatures.

Quidditch World Cup Ginny, Fred and George Weasley 3-Pack (ECCC 2019 Exclusive)

The Quidditch World Cup features heavily in the fourth Harry Potter book but it is only seen briefly in the movie. However, Funko has still capitalized on this scene, starting with this 3-pack in 2019. The trio’s attire perfectly represents their support of Ireland in the scene.

Ginny is wearing a large green hat, Fred has face paint in the shape of a four-leaf clover and George has white and green stripes under his eyes just like in the movie. With this being a Comic-Con exclusive and also a 3-pack of full-size Pops, it is bound to be more expensive than others but it is quite difficult to obtain now; the Funko app suggests collectors will need to pay an average of $105 for this set.

Nymphadora Tonks (ECCC 2020)

Tonks makes her debut in the fifth Harry Potter movie and is a fan-favorite character from the series. Funko fans had been eagerly awaiting a Pop of this character for some time when it finally dropped in 2020- and it wasn’t disappointing. The Pop shows Tonks with her look from the fifth movie and her bright purple hair is bound to stand out on any shelf.

The figure is a great likeness to the character and it’s no surprise that it’s in such high demand. This Pop has continued to climb in price since its original release and is now trending at an average of $110, according to the Funko app.

Luna Lovegood In Spectrespecs (SDCC 2017)

One of the best Harry Potter characters is Luna Lovegood and she has several Funko Pops to her name. The rarest Luna Pop is arguably her most iconic look from the series.

In the sixth movie, Luna rescues Harry after he is attacked by Draco on the Hogwarts express. In the scene, she is wearing a pink coat and the Spectrespecs; the Funko Pop of this moment is bright and colorful and beautifully captures the character fans love from the movies. The Pop is particularly eye-catching and stands out amongst the others in the series too. As this is one of the first Comic-Con releases, it is difficult to find now and the Funko app lists this Pop at an average price of $135.
