As Bachelor Nation looks forward to watching Matt James’ season of The Bachelor, many fans are wondering when and where this season was filmed. Some viewers expressed disappointment when watching the low-budget-looking season 16 of The Bachelorette. This franchise is known for going all out when it comes to alcohol quantity, stunning backdrops, and cinematic dates, but the COVID-19 pandemic threw off all of the plans for The Bachelorette in 2020. The season was first significantly delayed in production. Then, once it did start shooting, the entire season was set at the La Quinta Resort & Club in California.

On the other hand, the early previews for The Bachelor season 25 make it clear that the show is back with a bang. All things considered, it was vital for the production team to respect all the COVID-19 guidelines when filming the latest season of The Bachelorette, which was filmed during the summer of 2020. There wasn’t as much information about this virus back in the summer, so producers had to be very diligent and serious about all the precautions. The same guidelines also apply to The Bachelor, of course, but the team was able to still raise the stakes while they were at it.

Where Matt James’ Season Was Filmed

Matt James’ season of The Bachelor was filmed at a beautiful mansion, bringing back the more traditional look and feel of the series. Specifically, the show was filmed at the Nemacolin Resort in Farmington, Pennsylvania. The resort is located across 2,200 acres in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania and offers quite a few experiences for its guests. The specific mansion that Matt James appears to be in front of when meeting the girls is called The Chateau, but the resort also features other buildings where guests can stay. Additional amenities at the Nemacolin include a few different restaurants, outdoor sculptures, wild animals, natural landmarks, a 3,000-feet zip line, cars for off-roading driving, a paintball arena, spas, and salons, to name a few.

When Matt James’ Season Was Filmed

Several reports have come out to confirm that The Bachelor season 25 was filmed between September and November 2020. As seen below, Matt James himself confirmed this timeline when he shared a farewell tweet on September 22, 2020 saying that he’d be back “in 2 months.” Some publications have also gone on to confirm that the Nemacolin Resort was entirely booked between the months of October and November.

While Bachelor Nation awaits for Matt James’ season of The Bachelor to premiere, it can start looking into all these behind-the-scenes details that will set the tone for the show in 2021.

The Bachelor season 25 premieres Monday, January 4 on ABC.
