When viewers first tuned into Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor in the winter of 2020, they were introduced to then-27-year-old, Kelley Flanagan, who competed for the pilot’s heart.

Peter and Kelley had a unique connection, as they met at a hotel before filming for the show began. Kelley made it to the final five, but despite meeting before the start of the season, Pilot Pete felt a stronger connection with the other girls and sent Kelley home in fifth place, the week before hometowns. Despite pursuing both of his final two ladies after the show, Peter did not end up with either of them. Instead, a few months later, Peter and Kelley were spotted together and later confirmed they were in a relationship, leaving many fans shocked and excited at the same time. The pilot and attorney were together for quite some time before ultimately calling it quits on their relationship.

Peter opened up about the split on his Instagram, leaving the fans shocked as the couple just moved to New York City together on December 22. According to E!, a source said, “Peter ultimately was the one who ended it with Kelley, but she 100 percent agreed that they needed time apart.” The source went on to claim that the couple had been fighting a lot and the move put a lot of stress and pressure on both of them, which prompted the pilot to break up with the attorney.

According to the source, Pilot Pete went back to the west coast to ring in the new year with his family, and he will be staying there for the time being. Although many fans thought Peter and Kelley were good together, it is clear the connection they once had fizzled out, causing them a breakup after less than a year.

Although Peter and Kelley ended their relationship, they weren’t the only couple from Bachelor Nation to split in 2020. In total, nine couples from The Bachelor/Bachelorette ended their relationships last year. While many fans were shocked by this breakup, others saw it coming due to the tough year Bachelor Nation had. With another season of The Bachelor starting soon, fans can assume this will not be the last breakup in Bachelor Nation.
