In the wake of the immense success of The Bachelor, ABC took the hint and turned the tables with The Bachelorette. With the women in charge of choosing their forever man, many more villains and ill-intentioned men crawled out of the woodwork to get their 15 minutes of fame. The testosterone flowing and sense of competition led to many fights between The Bachelorette contestants.

The Bachelorette and its big macho fights were yet another hit with fans. However, even though the mostly female viewership believed their leading ladies would make better choices than their The Bachelor counterparts, some winners turned out to be terrible.

10 Season 3, Jerry Ferris

Jen Schefft had a great series in the franchise’s third season of the hit reality show, but the outcome of her choice in the finale left fans not really understanding what had happened. After sending home a shocked John Paul Merritt, only Jerry Ferris was left.

Bachelor Nation held their breaths as Ferris knelt down on one knee and proposed to Schefft. However, the tables quickly turned when Shefft rejected Ferris’s proposal stating that she thought they should just be friends. Needless to say, this bomb drop was very unsatisfactory as an ending to the season.

9 Season 4, Jesse Csincsak

DeAnna Pappas, coming off of her rejection by Brad Womack on The Bachelor season 11 finale, brought with her a sense of redemption and hope to the fans as one of the earliest Bachelorettes. The entertaining group dates and magical connections she seemed to form, particularly with Jesse Csincsak, led Bachelor Nation to believe this could be their happily ever after.

However, Pappas’s decision to choose Csincsak over runner-up, Jason Mesnick, proved to be a poor one because the couple split quite soon after the engagement. Because of Csincsak’s wildcard persona and Mesnick’s sense of stability, Viewers felt that Pappas made a horrible, supposedly life-long mate out of Jesse.

8 Season 5, Ed Swiderski

Jillian Harris had a whopping 30 men vying for her heart in season 5 of The Bachelorette and with the increased number of men came an increase in the drama. The season was great with constant nail-biting over which men had girlfriends back home and which had true intentions, which kept viewers on the edge of their seats all the way until Hometowns.

Alas, the fairytale once again ended in a failed engagement and nobody really came out a winner. While Harris accepted Ed Swiderski’s proposal in the finale, it fizzled out into nothing just a year after they took that next step. Even though Swiderski made it past the suspicions and scrutiny throughout the season, something obviously wasn’t right and the final rose went to waste.

7 Season 6, Roberto Martinez

Ali Fedotowsky had quite a wild ride in season 6 of the worldwide hit. Her season has been marked as one of the greatest seasons of The Bachelorette in the show’s run because of her authenticity and refusal to give roses to men she didn’t feel connections with. She famously got into a screaming match with producers over Justin “R Rated” Rego and her incompatibility with him.

In the end, Fedotowsky chose Roberto Martinez, whom she’d apparently formed a strong relationship with. A mere 18 months after the finale Fedotowsky and Martinez split.

6 Season 8, Jef Holm

Emily Maynard was yet another victim of a Brad Womack breakup after she won his return as The Bachelor on season 15 of the original show. Fans were rooting for The Bachelorette to find her true love in season 8 and show Bachelor Nation that the process can work more than a couple of times.

Maynard chose Jef Holm in the finale and accepted his proposal, but not all things last, especially in Bachelor Nation. Five months after their engagement began, the couple announced their split as one of the Bachelorette‘s shortest engagements. Maynard’s friends noted how miserable she was with Holm.

5 Season 10, Josh Murray

Andi Dorfman’s run as The Bachelorette was an entertaining and endearing one because of the constant drama between the men in the house and the tragic death of contestant Eric Hill in a paragliding accident right before the season aired. Dorfman quickly became rightly annoyed and frustrated with the drama in the house, but pressed on in the pursuit of love.

She chose Josh Murray in the end and they began an engagement in the finale. However, their relationship became volatile and the pair acrimoniously split.

4 Season 11, Shawn Booth

In one of the longer Bachelor Nation engagements, Kaitlyn Bristowe chose Shawn Booth in the season 11 finale and happily accepted his proposal. The couple’s post-show relationship lasted a substantial three years before they announced their split in a joint statement.

However, Booth wasn’t particularly popular among fans because of his cocky attitude and immaturity when he didn’t things his way. The breakup didn’t come as a huge shock due to Bristowe’s likeability and some fans had a sense of relief. Booth continued to hurt his reputation with public whining over party invites and the need for attention.

3 Season 12, Jordan Rodgers

In contrast to the other winners on this list, Jojo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers are actually still together today, despite that disastrous firefighting group date. However, their engagement has been postponed throughout the years several times, which brings to question whether Fletcher and Rodgers are actually meant to be.

Rodgers may not have been a terrible choice in Fletcher’s eyes, but fans didn’t feel the same way, particularly after Hometowns and the exposé of his and his brother’s, Super Bowl champion Aaron Rodgers, family feud. Rodgers came off as using the brotherly spat as a means to show he had a sensitive side but didn’t execute it in a sympathetic way.

2 Season 14, Garrett Yrigoyen

Becca Kurfin was one of the most-liked women to take on the role of The Bachelorette, which caused confusion and frustration among fans when she gave her final rose to Garrett Yrigoyen in the season 14 finale. However, Yrigoyen’s real morals and views didn’t take long to creep up out of the social media swamp.

Not only did Kufrin’s winner speak out against the trans community and liberal women, but he also criticized undocumented immigrants and mocked victims of the Parkland High School shooting. Needless to say, Yrigoyen quickly became The Bachelorette villain to Bachelor Nation and to the public, and the engagement didn’t last.

1 Season 15, Jed Wyatt

Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette was absolutely one of the most dramatic seasons in Bachelor Nation history. From Luke Parker’s aggressive and stalker-like episodes to the four-time Fantasy Suite champion of windmills, Peter Weber, Hannah had quite a ride. Jed Wyatt was a front-runner from the beginning, but it wasn’t long before fans wanted him gone almost as much as Parker.

Wyatt was constantly playing his guitar and came off as using the show as a self-promotion platform, which he ultimately ended up admitting both on the show and in interviews. However, Brown was not privy to these revelations and accepted his engagement in the finale. It was further unsurprising when Brown and Bachelor Nation found out Wyatt actually had a girlfriend back home the whole time.
