Kaitlyn Bristowe accepted Shawn Booth’s marriage proposal during The Bachelorette season 11 finale, but the couple broke up after the show. That was a pretty controversial – but very memorable – season of the show. Things started out weird when the show decided to cast two main bachelorettes instead of just one: 29-year-old Kaitlyn Bristowe and 28-year-old Britt Nilsson. Bachelor Nation first got to know Kaitlyn and Britt on The Bachelor season 19, which was led by Chris Soules. Britt ended up in eighth place, whereas Kaitlyn made it to third place.

During The Bachelorette season 11 premiere, the contestants were asked to pick Kaitlyn or Britt to become the actual bachelorette of the season. Because Kaitlyn received the most votes, she became the actual lead of the show from that point on. Over the course of a few weeks, Kaitlyn went on several dates with the cast of guys that she was given. In the end, Kaitlyn had three final options: 28-year-old personal trainer Shawn Booth, 34-year-old sales executive Nick Viall, and 26-year-old salesman Ben Higgins. She took Shawn and Nick to the finale and ultimately chose to get engaged to Shawn.

Kaitlyn and Shawn reportedly dated for three years after The Bachelorette. The season aired in 2015, and the couple only announced their breakup in 2018. A few months later, news broke that Kaitlyn Bristowe was in a new relationship with Jason Tartick. Bachelor Nation will remember Jason as the contestant who got third place on The Bachelorette season 14 starring Becca Kufrin. In 2020, Kaitlyn and Jason are still a couple and live together in Nashville, Tennessee. Besides hosting her Off The Vine podcast, Kaitlyn was also cast as a contestant on Dancing With The Stars 2020.

In turn, The Bachelorette winner Shawn Booth has kept a very low-profile when it comes to dating. Since his breakup with Kaitlyn, Shawn has mostly focused on his career and business endeavors in the fitness industry. For instance, he opened a gym in Nashville called Boothcamp. In June 2020, Life & Style Magazine reported that Shawn has been on a few dates since breaking up with Kaitlyn. However, he doesn’t seem to be rushing into anything new for the time being. Given that he has a business to run, Shawn told the magazine that he hasn’t had “too much time for dating.”

There’s no denying that season 11 of The Bachelorette was one for the books, even if the fans complained about quite a few things. Kaitlyn and Shawn might not have find their happy ending on the show, but they’re still young and have ample time to find love again.
