Warner Bros. Thailand has revealed a life-sized Robert Pattinson statue as part of their The Batman display. The caped crusader is on his way back to the big screen with Matt Reeves’ upcoming reboot starring Pattinson as the titular hero. Even though it follows a young Bruce Wayne, The Batman is skipping the origin story by focusing on the hero’s second year being Gotham City’s violent protector. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Warner Bros. was forced to push back its release date several times as The Batman was originally set to come out in June 2021. However, the delay has not managed to kill any anticipation for the upcoming DC film, especially on social media.

Like most superhero movies, The Batman marketing has been non-stop, especially as the film is less than a month away from its release. However, when it comes to The Batman‘s viral marketing, Warner Bros. has stepped up their PR game. Outside of releasing multiple trailers, WB has also implemented mysteries like The Riddler’s chilling website where fans got the chance to solve a number of Edward Nashton’s riddles. There have also been posters that have included cryptic messages from Paul Dano’s Zodiac-inspired villain, to help sell the idea that The Batman will be a new experience for long-time fans of the DC hero.

As The Batman is close to arriving in theaters worldwide, more marketing pieces have been unveiled, this time in Thailand. Through Warner Bros. Thailand‘s official social media pages, an actual life-sized statue of Pattinson’s Batman was revealed as part of their massive display. A video clip, which can be viewed here, also shows the statue spinning around as it captures the attention of citizens driving by. While it may not be on many people’s minds, this is one of the more enjoyable experiences leading up to major superhero films. Whether it is DC or Marvel, these comic book IPs have massive followings across the world, which means that each country does different things to celebrate the arrival of a new comic book movie at the theaters. When it comes to Batman, past franchises have usually brought the Bat-Signal out to various cities or displayed the Batmobile out on the streets. For Pattinson, it’s probably a surreal feeling to see his version of such an iconic character, whether it be through actions figures, Funko Pop!, or in this case, a life-sized statue in Thailand.

The wait for The Batman has been a long one, but it’s looking more and more like it will be worth it. Despite Batman being one of the heroes to be reinterpreted the most, it has become evident that Reeves is truly making this franchise as different as possible. From the way that he is handling The Riddler, who is being depicted as Gotham City’s own Zodiac killer, to the film having a heavy noir-detective tone, it doesn’t feel repetitive from the many Batman movies and TV shows that have come before. As The Batman arrives in theaters next month, the world will soon get to witness Reeves’ new universe in its entirety.
