As a musical comedy, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend was an easily unique series, separating itself from everything else on television. The show followed Rebecca Bunch on her journey to reconcile with summer camp boyfriend, Josh Chan. Rebecca goes through a variety of schemes to get her endgame, but alas it was not meant to be. Instead, Rebecca finds happiness in ways she had not expected. Friends who genuinely care about Rebecca and support her are more important than romances.

However, the best love story that Crazy Ex-Girlfriend tells is the self-love that Rebecca feels for herself. While Rebecca initially went to California for Josh, she stayed for something much better.
