Killers can’t run the way Survivors can in Dead By Daylight, but certain Killers can get a burst of speed to help them catch up with a Survivor and strike. In Dead By Daylight, each Killer comes with a special attack or ability, a weapon, and three unique Perks with dozens of Add-Ons to use against Survivors. Unlike playing Survivors, who can eventually use any combination of the same Perks, Items, and Add-Ons for any character, the choice of Killer matters for their unique powers. Several Killers in Dead By Daylight are built for speed, able to move and even attack in bursts no Survivor can reasonably outrun.

Three Killers in Dead By Daylight are particularly adept at chasing down Survivors and striking before they can get away. There are certain Perks that can augment any Killer’s speed and power, but the best fast Killers are those who have the innate ability to chase and overpower their prey. Here are the Killers in Dead By Daylight whose special Killer power helps them beat Survivors in chases and how to augment their power.

How to Choose a Speed Killer in Dead By Daylight

The best Speed Killers in Dead By Daylight can move quickly to pressure Survivors in a chase, often causing them to panic or make costly mistakes that get them injured or downed. Some of these Killers even gain speed and momentum after hitting or using an obstacle, making them even more deadly.

Players wanting to use speed to outpace Survivors in Dead By Daylight should choose one of the following characters:

The Blight

The Blight’s two main abilities are specifically tailored to speed. He can Rush, which will prevent him from attacking, and move toward Survivors at 230% speed. When The Blight slams into an obstacle during a Rush, they can use Lethal Rush to charge the Survivor again and this time attack. These attacks take time to recharge, so players will need to be strategic about using them. The Blight’s personal Perks, Dragon’s Grip, Hex: Blood Favour, and Hex: Undying allow him to impede Survivors’ Objective progress, find Survivors to charge, and gain an advantage in a chase.

The Legion

The Legion is a collection of four Killers who all wear similar masks, though players only ever control one at a time. Their main ability, Feral Frenzy, allows them to run at 130% speed and attack multiple Survivors in the same rush. The Legion can vault Pallets and Windows quickly while Feral Frenzy is active and can attack using Feral Slash, which inflicts a deep wound and reveals the location of all other Survivors. Like The Blight, The Legion’s attacks will take time to recharge, so players will need to time them appropriately. The Legion’s unique Perks, Discordance, Mad Grit, and Iron Maiden allow them to easily find Survivors to rush and give them the ability to attack even while carrying a downed Survivor.

The Nurse

The Nurse is a terrifying Killer who can “blink” through walls to jumpscare and attack Survivors. She can blink for up to 20 meters and charge during a brief Chain Blink Window to add an additional 12 or fewer meters. She will be Fatigued for two to three seconds following blinks, so timing will be everything for players. The Nurse’s unique Perks, Stridor, Thanatophobia, and A Nurse’s Calling, allow her to track Survivors, especially those who are injured and make it more difficult for them to make progress on their Objectives.

As Killer players unlock Teachable perks in each character’s Bloodweb, they can experiment with different loadouts to complement Killer powers. Good speed-increasing Perks beyond those for The Blight, The Legion, and The Nurse include:

  • Agitation (The Trapper): While carrying a Survivor, the Killer’s Movement speed is increased by 6/12/18% and their Terror Radius is increased by 12 meters.
  • Coup de Grace (The Twins): Each time a Generator is completed, the Killer earns the ability to increase the distance of their next Lunge Attack by 40/50/60%.
  • Fire Up (The Nightmare): Each time a Generator is completed, the Killer gains a stackable 3/3.5/4% speed bonus when picking up and dropping Survivors, breaking Pallets and Walls, damaging Generators, and vaulting.
  • Hex: Devour Hope (The Hag): Each time a Survivor is rescued from a Hook when the Killer is at least 24 meters away, Devour Hope earns one Token. At two Tokens, Killers gain a 3/4/5% Haste effect 10 seconds after hooking a Survivor. At three Tokens, Survivors suffer permanently from the Exposed status effect. At five Tokens, the Killer has the ability to kill all Survivors by their own hand.
  • Hex: No One Escapes Death: Once the Exit Gates are powered and there is at least one more Dull Totem in the Trial, a Dull Totem will light and grant the Killer a 2/3/4% movement speed bonus. Survivors will suffer from a permanent Exposed status effect.

Each Speed Killer in Dead By Daylight will also have Add-Ons in their Bloodweb that increase the potency of their basic and special attacks, further improving their ability to outrun Survivors.
