A new trailer for the upcoming Adult Swim series Birdgirlhighlights the Birdteam. A spinoff of Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law, which aired from 2000 until 2007, Birdgirl focuses on the titular character of Judy Ken Sebben (voiced by Paget Brewster) as she takes on the responsibility of inheriting her father’s company. That might be seen as a great promotion if it weren’t for the fact that the company itself is built around projects like running for-profit children’s hospitals.

A first look at Birdgirl shed light on the kind of comedy fans can expect from the series. Now, a new trailer is widening its lens by introducing viewers to Judy’s Birdteam. That includes instantly distinctive characters like Meredith the Mindtaker, The Feels, Strongarm, and the adorable Birdcat. The preview also teases how Judy sets out to handle corporate life in the aftermath of her father’s apparent death. You can check it out, from IGN, below.

Along with Brewster, the voice cast of Birdgirl includes Rob Delaney, Kether Donohue, John Doman, Sonia Denis, Negin Farsad, Tony Hale, and Lorelei Ramirez. The series is executive produced by Erik Ritcher, who was the co-creator of Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law. He will serve in the position alongside Christina Miller.

That sort of continuity, along with the fact that Brewster is returning to voice the main character, is a good sign that the spinoff aims to continue down the path that made the original series such a cult favorite. Given that the spinoff was first announced in May 2019, though, fans won’t have to wait much longer to see how it all unfolds. Birdgirl will make its Adult Swim premiere on April 4.
