The Bold Type: 10 Best Outfits On The Show

There is a lot to love about The Bold Type. The female-centric show that empowers women instead of belittling them and their place in the world is definitely something to be celebrated. It is the modern feminist show we’ve been waiting for and we can’t get enough of it.

And while there are many, many things to enjoy about watching this Freeform series, one of the perks is seeing the incredible fashion choices made by the women at Scarlet magazine.

Jane, Kat, and Sutton are always dressed to the nines, but it doesn’t even stop with them. Here are the 10 best outfits on The Bold Type we’ve seen thus far.

10 Kat’s Daring Work Outfit

Not many of us would be brave enough to rock a top that shows off our mid-riff at work, but Kat Edison has no qualms about doing just that in this outfit.

The collared shirt is buttoned all the way to the top, giving the illusion of propriety. But then Kat goes into a totally different direction with the bottom half of the button-down shirt being tailored into a hi-lo crop top.

Pairing it with skinny distressed jeans, this outfit is certainly not your conventional work ensemble. But that is exactly why we love it. Plus, it is the perfect look for Kat.

9 Jane’s Bad Girl Look

This look is a far cry from the look we saw of Jane’s in her very first scene. She looked every bit the wide-eyed, preppy journalist in her hot pink dress. But here, she is letting her dark side out and looking fabulous as she does it.

Wearing all black, Jane is wearing her tight leather pants with a cropped crew neck top and finishes the look with her black bomber jacket. Of course, her stilettos were involved, too.

We are so here for this other side to Jane. She doesn’t always have to be the good girl next door, as we now know.

8 Kat And Her Printed Jumpsuit

Kat Edison has had quite the journey since we first met her on The Bold Type. The head of the social media department, Kat is a woman who goes after what she wants and typically gets it.

So when she met Adena, an out and proud Muslim lesbian photographer, sparks immediately fly, which takes Kat off-guard since, at this point, she thought she was straight.

She decides to try to see what this connection means between her and Adena at her show, which is where she donned this stunner of a jumpsuit. The cutouts, the strapless neckline, and the geo-print make it a gorgeous and unique outfit. Kat could woo just about anyone wearing this.

7 The Sexy Artist Look From Adena

Adena is a woman who follows her heart and always sticks to her morals and beliefs, no matter who disagrees with her. This is also evoked in her clothing choices.

She is a proud Muslim woman, but she also doesn’t adhere to anyone’s guidelines of what that should mean. She can be proud of that while still wearing a low-cut and lacy top as we see here. Her high-waisted jeans with her gorgeous blazer make her look equal parts casual and artsy.

Even her gold accessories dress this up while keeping the look beautifully casual for work. We love Adena’s style and this is definitely our favorite look of hers.

6 Jane’s Sultry Top

As we’ve said, we love seeing Jane’s unapologetic bad side. Seeing her pick more daring fashion choices is something we’ve come to look forward to over the course of the series.

This cropped black sweater top with a sweetheart neckline and a choker to match it immediately screams sultry on Miss Jane here.

Even her makeup is smoky and her hair is artfully tousled, making her look ready to seduce any man she wants — but here we’re guessing it’s Pinstripe she’s got her sights set on. She looks gorgeous with this dark palette against her fair skin tone and we hope to see more looks like this in the future.

5 Sutton’s Flirty Dress With An Edge

Sutton is the part of the trio that comprises of herself, Kat, and Jane. The three best friends each have their own goals and dreams while working for Scarlet, and Sutton’s is to be involved in fashion.

She has worked hard to get where she is now at Scarlet and here is what she wears for a night out while networking. A dark floral midi dress paired with an edgy black leather jacket may not seem like the obvious choice, but it makes for a gorgeous look on Sutton.

Her flirty dress with this leather jacket is the perfect combination of sweet and daring.

4 Jacqueline’s Evening Wear

Jacqueline Carlyle is the editor-in-chief at Scarlet magazine and is always dressed to impress because of this title. This evening wear is a perfect example of how she does that even when attending a party for the magazine.

This asymmetrical off-the-shoulder black evening gown looks gorgeous on her already, but pairing it with elegant and simple gold jewelry and a dark lip color makes it perfect for Jacqueline.

We love that she even had her manicure match her dress and makeup. This night ended up being an empowering one for her, as well, and we’re so glad this was the outfit she wore when conquering some demons she had.

3 Pinstripe Is Bad Boy Personified

Pinstripe a.k.a. Ryan Decker is a journalist who worked at — you guessed it — Pinstripe magazine. He and Jane became acquainted after bumping into each other in an elevator at the building they both work at.

Things didn’t start out smoothly, mostly because Jane viewed him as a player, bad boy type. The way he dresses probably had a small part in that, but it’s hard to deny that he doesn’t look damn good in his outfits.

He’s been seen in this black leather moto jacket a number of times, usually pairing it with stylish jeans and a tight tee. It’s always been a fan favorite look for his fans, and that includes us, too.

2 Kat And Jane Are Ready For A Night Out

Whether they’re going to a club or going to an event for Scarlet magazine, the women at Scarlet are always looking spectacular, no matter the occasion.

Kat and Jane are looking particularly gorgeous in their dresses for this Scarlet event. Jane’s sequined black gown with a deep v-neckline and tulle cap sleeves is understated and stunning. And then there’s Kat with her sleeveless black, yellow, and white maxi gown.

The bow details on the chest make the look even more of a showstopper. We are loving how fashionable this friend duo is, especially here.

1 Dressed To Kill

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, and that is exactly what we’re getting from this outfit choice of Jane Sloan’s. She had recently found out that her boyfriend, Ryan, had kissed another woman.

She was devastated but knew the show must go on, so to speak, and her work never stops. So when Ryan tried to talk to her, she left him to stew over his actions while donning this outfit.

The printed black top with a wrapped waistline and puffed sleeves paired with her black skinny jeans and heels was the perfect dramatic look to leave Ryan in the dust…temporarily.
