Great superheroes need cool costumes. Even corrupt ones like members of The Seven still need work-appropriate attire while destroying the world. For members of The Seven, the costumes aren’t exactly a matter of personal taste. They are designed by Vought International, the company that manages them.

There have been eight members of The Seven in the Amazon series so far. A few other Supes, including Shockwave and Blindspot, tried to join but that didn’t go well. There’s one who didn’t need a costume. Before his death, Translucent didn’t really need to wear anything because he was invisible. While some of the costumes are quite appealing to the eye and continent for the Supes, others are quite baffling.

8 Starlight’s Second Costume

After being a member of The Seven for a couple of months, Annie aka Starlight gets pressured into switching to a more revealing costume. Her new costume looks more like a swimsuit than crime-fighting attire. Vought International clearly wants to oversexualize her for marketing purposes but it all comes off as a bit distasteful. It would have been different if she was the one who personally preferred the costume, but she didn’t.

Since Starlight is mostly seen taking selfies with children in the series, there is no doubt that most of her fans are non-adults. It thus makes no sense for Vought to oversexualize her. While the white and gold combination is a perfect color choice, increasing the outfit’s surface area is something that should be put into consideration.

7 The Deep’s Scaly Design

For a man who spends a lot of time underwater, The Deep’s costume suits him well. It’s perfectly streamlined to make water flow of the body easily. His gloves have fins similar to those of a fish, to enable him to swim easily.

There is but one problem. His tight costume completely covers the gills located on his abdomen. Since it’s been stated that he uses gills to breathe while in water, he must have a difficult time doing so while wearing the costume. It would have made much more sense for him to be shirtless or have a costume that doesn’t cover the gills.

6 Starlight’s First Costume

When she first joins The Seven, Starlight wears a white and gold costume that covers most of her body. This fits with her personality more than the revealing costume she was later forced to wear by Vought.

The problem? Her first costume comes with a cape, which doesn’t make sense because she can’t fly. It has a star sign on the chest area too. The sign is important because she is Starlight after all. Her second costume, on the other hand, lacks the star sign.

5 A-Train’s Shades Of Blue

A-Train’s costume isn’t as off-putting as his behavior. The custom sunglasses remind fans of Sam Wilson but they are there for a reason. The eyes can dry out very quickly while he’s moving at high speeds hence the sunglasses serve as protective gear. The costume itself has different shades of blue and its design doesn’t appear to have been influenced by any other hero.

On each of A-Train’s sleeves, there is the letter A which makes it impossible to forget the Supe’s name. His gloves are quite unique as they don’t cover his fingers. After all, he rarely finds himself in a position where he has to punch people.

4 Stormfront’s Neat Patterns

Stormfront steals the show as soon as she is brought in to replace the deceased Translucent. She is badass and her costume doesn’t disappoint. Her gloves and boots have bump-like patterns which make her stand out from other members of The Seven.

The color scheme of her costume is maroon and black. The two colors blend magnificently, with the black emphasizing her dark personality. Her V-shaped belt also looks more stylish than that won by any other Supe. She has a cape too, which is useful for a Supe that hits the air very frequently.

3 Queen Maeve’s Warrior Look

Like Wonder Woman, Maggie aka Queen Maeve wears a tiara on her head. While Wonder Woman got her tiara from her aunt and mentor General Antiope, it’s not clear what influenced Maeve to wear one. The explanation can be as simple as just copying the DC hero. Either way, she still looks good while donning it.

Maeve also wears a sleeveless leather costume that has a breastplate. This gives the impression of someone who is always ready for battle. Surprisingly, her fight scenes are very limited. The skirt, large belt, and knee-high boots complete the warrior look. Maeve is one of the few Seven members who occasionally switches to casual clothes. This happens whenever she is with her lover Elena.

2 Black Noir’s All Black

Black Noir’s costume covers his entire body and this adds to the mystery. He is a killing machine after all. The quiet Seven member appears badass at all times. Nobody ever knows who is beneath the mask. In the comics, it was a Homelander clone. In the series, it’s yet to be determined.

The octagon-like designs on the chest area echo Batman’s costume. The dark color scheme as a whole is a reminder of costumes worn by ninjas. What’s even more impressive about Noir’s costume is that there is a compartment for knives on his calf area.

1 Homelander’s Red & Blue

Homelander has the American flag for a cape, which is quite symbolic. The flag emphasizes the deception of Vought International. The company has marketed him as the greatest American hero but deep down he is as despicable as the worst villains to ever walk the face of the earth.

His blue tights and yellow belt give him the proper superhero look. The blue is clearly inspired by Superman’s costume. He wears red gloves and red boots, further mimicking the Man Of Steel. Nothing about this costume feels out of place.
