Amanda Garcia is a controversial The Challenge player, and it’s time to share information about the reality star. When it comes to Amanda, there’s a running joke that everyone hates her, which plagues her despite a broad fanbase. With a long history on MTV, dating back to 2015, Amanda has always found ways to get extensive camera time. Amanda originally came to The Challenge after her break into reality TV on Are You The One? On The Challenge, Amanda is known for her long-lasting rivalries with Camila Nakagawa and Cara Maria Sorbello. Amanda started her The Challenge journey on Rivals III and then appeared in Invasion of the Champions, XXX: Dirty 30, Final Reckoning, War of the Worlds, and season 37, Spies, Lies, & Allies.

Originally from Denver, Colorado, Amanda loves spending time with her family and worked at a weed dispensary before her foray into The Challenge universe. She more recently earned a nursing degree and became a mom to her young son, Avonni Anthony, with ex-fiance, Ray Reinhardt. While Ray and Amanda seem like very happy parents, their romantic relationship did not last. Amanda told US Weekly back in 2020, “It’s not the first time I’ve caught women texting him back and forth behind my back. It’s not the first time he’s left my son hanging without checking on him, not even once. But it is the first time I’ve actually gotten pictures of him and information of him physically cheating, therefore I am finished.” Amanda has since sparked up a new romance. She’s gone Instagram official with Fessy Shafaat.

Amanda has since returned for a brand-new The Challenge season. She brings a lot of baggage to the show, as she has a reputation for talking her castmates’ ears off and earning plenty of enemies in the process. Amanda has nine daily wins and one elimination win. Her successes validate her bravado to a certain degree. While the trash-talking has primarily remained friendly, a rather dark incident occurred back in 2019. Theo Campbell, Kyle Christie, and another notorious vet, Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio, taped Amanda’s face and mouth. Then, they taped her entire head.

Castmates didn’t think the incident was intentionally malicious but nonetheless found it highly disturbing. At first, Amanda took issue with The Challenge producers’ decision not to air the footage. According to US Weekly, she later tweeted that they “went too far” but felt “their intentions were never to hurt me.” She said that, “production handled it the way they did, and it is what it is.”

Despite indicating that she may not return to MTV, Amanda is back in action. She’s ready to work alongside her fellow vets in the hopes of a potential victory. As usual, she already has had some input on the show drama, after noticing the also-loudmouthed Ashley Mitchell and Nelson Thomas getting cozy on set. Amanda said, “Ashley and nelson have a really great friendship but now that they are dabbling in the hookup kind of thing, I just hope that no one is catching any feelings because we all know that Ashley loses her sh*t when she catches feelings.” She has a point. Amanda’s significant fanbase is optimistic that The Challenge season 37 will be successful and trauma-free for her.
