When The Challenge made its return on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, for a new season called Double Agents, viewers saw the return of Devin Walker-Molaghan. This is Devin’s first time competing after last appearing on The Challenge: Final Reckoning back in 2018. He is a five-time The Challenge vet. However, he thought he would never make his return to the MTV series.

After he made his debut on The Challenge during Rivals III, Devin became someone that the show’s fans remember, but not always in a good way. Viewers didn’t like his arrogance, especially towards rival, Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio. During his appearance on Final Reckoning, viewers found him difficult to root for and obnoxious. This is why Devin was a bit surprised when he received the call to compete on Double Agents.

As per a Cheatsheet article, Devin has stated numerous times that he was not expecting to ever receive another call to compete on the show. He said, “I, first of all, didn’t expect really ever to do a Challenge again because a lot of people don’t know this but… it wasn’t like I decided to take time away from The Challenge, I guess I kind of got fired in a sense.

Although Devin did make that statement, he clarified that he was on the cast list, but as an alternate. He wasn’t expecting to be a part of the main cast due to what happened on Final Reckoning. He also made this statement about appearing on the show, “Don’t get me wrong, I was happy to receive that because you look at this show and how many people they have to pick from and to be even considered to be on what I believe to be the greatest reality TV show on planet earth… is awesome.”  He even went as far as to say that it kind of feels like an honor to be on the show. During his first few seasons of The Challenge, he took the gig for granted.

Most viewers aren’t his biggest fans. However, the majority of the show’s fans agree that he sure does bring entertainment to The Challenge house. Although Devin, who once called Lolo Jones a liar, got eliminated on this season of the show, viewers may see him on the MTV series in the future. He says his elimination has left him determined to become a better competitor on the show.
