In Fortnite, players have the option to use the creative mode to design fully custom maps. Some custom maps can offer an extremely competitive environment for players to practice, and other maps may offer a unique setting for a more casual playing experience. Many custom maps are themed around genres or specific media, allowing players the opportunity to game in some of their favorite settings.

Horror is a popular choice for creative mode maps in Fortnite, and The Visit-Biohazard (6496-9997-4696) is a particularly good map referencing Resident Evil 7. Also embracing horror is the map called The Creekwood Tracks (6496-9997-4696) where the players are hunting for their missing sister. This eerie map includes a full story within the 20-minute play experience. Finally, the aptly named Hauntophobia (6621-4642-3997) is designed to resemble an escape room. The catch to this map is five players are trying to escape while one player hunts them down, and players have the option to choose from two difficulties.

For a more whimsical environment, players may want to check out the custom map The North Pole: Deathrun (7773-6191-5527). This map offers players 25 easy to medium levels to complete, and players will feel immersed in the environment as they interact with snowballs, holiday lights, and other holiday decorations in Fortnite. Similar to The North Pole: Deathrun is Tinker’s Toystore (0632-6317-2480) which is themed around a store during the holiday season. The many aisles offer a lot of places to hide, and players who survive may even find Santa.

Fortnite: Cool Custom Maps And How To Use Them

Another themed custom map is Toy Story Prop Hunt (5530-6235-0681). Inspired by the movie Toy Story, players will hide in Andy’s bedroom as they battle their opponents. For those looking for a more exhilarating atmosphere, Turbo Dash: Neo City is a city-wide game of tag. The twist to this map is the assigned taggers will be eliminated after 30 seconds in this creative Fortnite city. After practicing their speed in Turbo Dash: Neo City, players can work on their trickshots in Trickshot Utopia V2 (6791-3236-9115). This map allows players to test some impossible shots, and is perfect for those looking to capture some epic in-game footage.

For players seeking a challenging custom map, Shotgun Aim Course (3526-8335-4329) offers them the opportunity to hone their skills with a shotgun in close combat. Similarly, the Ultimate Edit & Aim Course (3526-8335-4329) challenges players to 45 training sections, which range from Basic Training to Editing Training, and end with Aim Training. One of the more challenging custom maps is Box Fight (0377-0055-2829). This custom map in Fortnite allows players to fight in, as the name suggests, a box instead of the whole map with teams ranging from one to four players. With nowhere to hide, this course is ideal for those hoping to improve their competitive skills.

To use codes for custom maps created by other players, head to the Creative player hub and approach an options window. The option to Change Destination should appear, prompting players to input a code. Additionally, the game will provide several potential locations to visit if players are looking for a change of environment without having a specific map in mind.
