The Family Chantel: River’s Partner Megan Dragged By Fans After Split

Tensions are high for Pedro and the Jimeno family on The Family Chantel season 3, but it was Riverknight Everett who faced a breakup on Monday night’s new episode. Chantel’s 23-year-old brother introduced his long-distance girlfriend Megan this season. While Megan was disappointed when Karen and Chantel weren’t interested in grilling her, many viewers began questioning the intentions of the aspiring model and singer. Now that Riverknight and Megan have seemingly parted ways, 90 Day Fiancé fans are continuing to voice their suspicions that Megan used Riverknight to appear in the franchise.

Both Riverknight and his sister Winter faced relationship issues in the new season of the TLC spin-off show. Winter and her longterm partner Jah split shortly after their engagement when Winter rejected the idea of polygamy. Meanwhile, Riverknight appeared smitten with Megan and penned the song “Kentucky Vibes” about her. However, viewers thought that the older mother was just using Riverknight to appear on TV and promote her music. Viewers were appalled by the rude way Megan allowed her friends to interrogate Riverknight, while Megan also seemed unusually upset that Chantel and Karen didn’t want to pick a fight with her. When Megan and Riverknight sat down on Monday night’s episode and acknowledged that they were in different places in life and wanted different things, few fans were sad to witness the apparent split.

The official @90dayfiance Instagram shared a clip from Monday night’s episode that featured Riverknight and Megan having their parting conversation. Commenters immediately starting chiming in with claims that Megan was just using Riverknight and he needed to let her go. “She was with him only for fame,” one top commenter wrote. Other comments brought up speculation that Megan was talking to other men behind Riverknight’s back. “They need to breakup. Her and her friends give me ‘I want to be reality tv famous’. Birds,” another fan agreed.

Few The Family Chantel fans were surprised to see Megan and Riverknight apparently breakup. “They was never gonna make it from day 1. … They have nothing in common and when I saw her for the first time I knew it was all for a storyline,” one commenter shared. Others pointed out how Megan seemed to want to start a feud with Chantel for more airtime, although Chantel did not appear interested. “She’s in it for the fame. Though Riverknight appeared to have genuine feelings for Megan, it became clear to him that they wanted different things. As an older mother, Megan has different priorities and was unable to provide the support and time that Riverknight desired from a partner. Many viewers think that the younger brother of Chantel would be happier with someone closer to his age who can return what Riverknight has to offer.
