WARNING: Spoilers for The Flash season 6, episode 11 “Love Is A Battlefield”

The Flash has revealed another Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) doppelganger following the after-effects of Crisis on Infinite Earths. The 5-hour Arrowverse event changed the status quo of the shared universe’s Multiverse concept as several worlds were merged into one. But as Earths were combined, several from the old Multiverse were destroyed which eliminated a major component of the Grant Gustin-led drama. Since the first season, the series has explored multiple versions of Harrison Wells from different Earths every season. Despite the reveal of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) having re-created the Multiverse, it still remains to be seen what that does for the Harrison doppelgangers.

The season is still following the Nash Wells incarnation as he tries to find his place on Earth-Prime after the role he played in the Crisis as Pariah. In The Flash’s recent episode “Love Is A Battlefield”, Nash’s storyline continues to revolve more around Allegra (Kayla Compton). Back on his Earth, Allegra was Nash’s daughter which explains his big interest in this version of her on Earth-Prime. As he observes Allegra hanging out with her friend, Nash suddenly sees another Harrison Wells across the room at Jitters. While the stranger doesn’t say anything, this Harrison is gone in the blink of an eye, leaving the question unanswered of which version this is.

This opens up the door for a number of possibilities as it confirms that The Flash isn’t done with exploring different Harrison Wellses. Given the wardrobe and make-up that Cavanagh was in, the first scenario is that it’s actually Eobard Thawne posing as the Earth-1 Harrison again. Despite the fact that he originally played a role in Crisis, the speedster Reverse-Flash never appeared in the crossover. If this is indeed the iconic foe’s return, it remains to be seen what the effects of the Crisis have done to him in this new timeline. Given that Nash was only able to see this version for a split second, it supports the idea that this is Eobard as his super-speed would allow him to disappear as fast as he did. Despite the fact that the original Earth-2 was destroyed, that world was restored to now act as the home of DC Universe’s upcoming Stargirl series.

However, the characters of Earth-Prime have, so far, talked about Harry and Jesse Wells (Violett Beane) as if they are dead. Another possibility for who this Harrison could be is that it’s actually Harry who has somehow survived the events of the Multiverse-shattering event. But why he emerged in front of Nash only to disappear within seconds is the biggest mystery. But given that The Flash season 6 is still exploring the new changes caused by Crisis, there is another Harrison candidate to consider. Despite having been murdered by Matt Letscher’s Eobard before taking his appearance in season 1, this new Harrison could be the original version from Earth-1. Little is known about that Harrison other than that he was a well-known scientist in Central City. Because of Eobard’s actions, while posing as him, it hurt Harrison’s legacy as a whole.

But with Crisis rebooting the Arrowverse, this could be The Flash taking the opportunity to explore the show’s first Harrison while also clearing his name. Due to how brief his appearance was in the episode, it remains to be seen if this Harrison is someone Nash should fear or approach. If it’s actually the Earth-1 Harrison, only time will tell why he is particularly interested in Nash. Given that the original version never had any experience with the Multiverse, this would that Harrison’s first time seeing a doppelganger of himself. But if it’s Eobard, using Harrison’s face, then it might spell out trouble for Nash and Team Flash as The Flash season 6 progresses and explores the new changes done by the latest Arrowverse crossover.
