WARNING: This article includes MAJOR spoilers from The Flash season 8 episodes 10 & 11.

The Flash season 8 episode 11 trailer teases the return of Robbie Amell’s Firestorm. The latest season is getting into one of the show’s darker storylines as the Black Flame mystery continues. While The Flash normally deals with speedster villains, metahumans, and sometimes even aliens, the Black Flame is a different baddie altogether. As teased by the showrunner last year, The Flash season 8 is taking on the supernatural and the world of horror, something that the series hasn’t explored previously. It’s not even something the other Arrowverse shows deal with on a regular basis, so this is very much new territory.

As The Flash season 8 is getting further into the latest storyline, things are starting to come together with the new serial killer villain. Previous episodes have established that the Black Flame is able to take on the form of any deceased person they want. With various members on Team Flash having lost loved ones, the Black Flame has been targeting specific characters by looking like someone that has died in their lives. This week’s episode, “Reckless,” ended with Caitlin Snow being the latest Team Flash member to get a personal visit by the Black Flame, that now seems to have ties to Firestorm’s return.

While ending on a massive cliffhanger, The CW (via TV Promos) ran a new The Flash season 8 episode 11 trailer, which is titled “Resurrection.” The promo shows Caitlin telling her current boyfriend Marcus about her dead husband now haunting her. With her determined to bring her fallen love back from the dead, “Resurrection” looks like it will be an intense one for Team Flash. Check out the trailer below:

Amell, who debuted in the Arrowverse back in The Flash season 1 as the iconic DC hero, sadly had a short run, at least as a living character. In The Flash season 2 premiere, Ronnie sacrificed himself to close the singularity. However, thanks to the nature of the Arrowverse, the dead don’t always stay dead, as TheFlash‘s Firestorm has returned in various forms since then. A title like “Resurrection” seems to imply that The Flash season 8 is actually reviving Ronnie, perhaps to reunite Caitlin with her one true love. However, “Resurrection” could have a different meaning, or perhaps be a red herring.

Even though most characters who have died on The Flash have stayed dead, it would be refreshing if the writers are reviving Ronnie. While he was a recurring guest in season 1, the show never really got to do a lot with him before his death. It likely had to do with the fact that Firestorm as a whole was being moved to Legends of Tomorrow, with Martin and Jax. Nevertheless, fans will have to tune in for next week’s episode of The Flash to find out if Firestorm is coming back from the dead.
