The Flash sets up a season 7 love interest for Killer Frost. The superhero series’ resident villain-turned-snarky-friend was really getting her flirt on in season 7’s seventh episode, called “Growing Pains.” Killer Frost has been a regular character on The Flash since season 3 and her journey has been an interesting and often strange one. However, while her counterpart, Caitlin Snow, has seen her fair share of romantic partners, Killer Frost finally got one of her own.

Killer Frost had to own up to her previous crimes in The Flash’s “Growing Pains” and deal with a copycat villain calling himself Chillblaine (real name Mark Waid). However, while trying to solve her own case, Frost finds herself incredibly attracted to Chillblaine, who feigned helping her out before she realized he was also trying to frame her for murder. Frost was still pretty lovestruck though, losing her train of thought as soon as Mark took off his shirt and getting somewhat flustered when he mentioned seeing her again sometime. Even their fight at the end of the season 7 episode was filled with a good amount of sexual tension.

It was also slowed down in certain instances to highlight Frost’s expressions regarding being in such close physical proximity to Chillblaine. And, even though the pair’s flirtation was short-lived, Frost was clearly smitten. It’s an intriguing route to go for Killer Frost, who’s been working on bettering her people skills and assimilating into society since at least The Flash season 5. Frost has her own body now, too, and was looking forward to truly beginning living her life. While her personal life might be on pause for now due to turning herself into the police for past transgressions, the fact Frost now has a love interest at all is a testament to her evolution as a person.

This is the first time Frost has shown romantic interest in anyone and vice versa and it feels like a natural (and rather humorous) development for the icy woman going forward. While it didn’t work out between Frost and Chillblaine, the former’s attraction and interest in someone could lead to Frost attempting to find love and perhaps go on a few dates in the near future. (As an aside, Chester seemed very concerned and enthusiastic about helping Frost, which could be construed as him liking her. But, Chester is also generally excited about things, so there’s some doubt he may be interested in Frost as more than a friend.)

One can only hope that Frost’s love life will have a better track record than Caitlin’s, whose husband, Ronnie Raymond, tragically died at the end of The Flash season 1 before she fell in love with the villain Hunter Zolomon (aka, Zoom) in season 2. Julian Albert and Caitlin formed a bond in season 3 and he expressed interest, but that relationship never really went anywhere. Fans can assume Frost will eventually get out of jail at some point in The Flash season 7 and it’ll be interesting to see whether or not Caitlin will aid her other half in the romance department and if Frost will find a good match for herself at some point down the line.
