The Good Place’s Chrome extension removes all swear words and it’s forking awesome. Anyone with a few episodes of The Good Place under their belt will have noticed there is no swearing on the show – a quirk that is both a plot point and a practicality. It’s explained early on that curse words are a no-no in the afterlife, but the lack of profanity also meant NBC could cleverly and hilariously circumvent prime-time television swearing restrictions.

The result is a new vocabulary of bowdlerized swear words with the f-bomb becoming “fork,” “bench” replacing “bitch” and “shirt” meaning… well, it’s pretty obvious what that stands in for. Each time a new window or tab is opened, users get a notification telling them whether they’re in the Good Place, Bad Place or on Earth with each location offering customized weather updates (it tends to get rather hot in the Bad Place and weather conditions like scorpion rain showers and a never-ending stench are common). There’s also the option to replace YouTube’s thumbs-up, thumbs-down buttons with Good Place or Bad Place voting options and a “Joy Of Missing Out” feature that reminds users to take regular breaks from the internet.

Another fun feature of The Good Place Chrome extension is one that replaces the default search input on sites including YouTube and Google with “Ask Janet,” which sees D’Arcy Carden’s character Janet guide users through all their web browsing adventures and transforms the Google search page into The Google Place. All in all, it’s a shirt-ton of fun.
