The Great British Baking Show season 11 is now in the history books, with the show managing to continue despite global health concerns. Everyone involved in the show had to leave their families for a lengthy period to isolate away in order to make this season happen, which is something all the contestants deserve credit for.

The baking was as incredible as always, with lots of great details being placed into the food that was created. But, as ever it is the contestants themselves that make this show what it is. The contestants are always very nice people, which is what makes this show so enjoyable as they are helpful and supportive. But, as with any competition show like this, there is always someone who stands out as being slightly more likable than the rest.

12 Loriea

Loriea seemed to be a nice enough person, having quite a bubbly personality and clearly a lot of energy. However, she was eliminated within the first week, meaning audiences didn’t get much opportunity to actually get to know her as a person.

As the weeks go on, peoples personalities become clearer throughout, and sadly Loriea didn’t benefit from having that opportunity to showcase herself. However, from the one episode, she was shown, it was clear that she could have been great.

11 Rowan

Rowan was certainly the most eccentric contestant on the show and that made him very memorable. His large variety of waistcoats were certainly impressive and the fact he always tried something incredibly ambitious with his baking was something fans respected.

However, because he often fell short of the mark when it came to the showstoppers, some fans did become frustrated that he outlasted other favorites. But, Rowan did everything with grace and always had a smile on his face, which is what this show is famous for.

10 Sura

Sura was eliminated in week four of the show, and she certainly made an impact on the series, especially when her cakes were knocked onto the floor by Dave. She had a bubbly personality and interacted with the hosts really well, which made her popular with audiences.

However, she also was very competitive and that was clear with the way she behaved, which isn’t often the case on The Great British Baking Show. Typically, everyone is a lot less worried about the competition elements, and that was Sura’s downfall.

9 Mak

Mak didn’t actually last that long in the series, as he was eliminated in week two. However, he clearly made an impact on his fellow contestants as he was very popular with them, and fans were outraged when he was eliminated so early, which shows the connection he made.

Mak was clearly a family man, and a very proud one at that, which instantly made him likable and relatable. Everything he did was with a smile and for fun, and that really made him a real hit. It’s just a shame he didn’t last a little bit longer to become a true fan favorite.

8 Peter

Peter was the season 11 winner and there’s no doubt he was an extremely talented baker. But he was someone who did divide the fans of the show quite a bit. Some people enjoyed Peter because he was young and highly skilled, while many people found him to be a little arrogant at times.

It was very clear that Peter knew he was good, and that didn’t always come off in the best light. However, he was always positive, and as a superfan of the show, he was obviously just incredibly pleased to be part of it all, which radiated from him and made him a likable contestant overall.

7 Marc

Marc was one of the more experienced bakers and someone who was very kind to everyone in the tent, which is what made him such a loveable person. He gave it his all and clearly wanted to do his best with every single bake, even if he did overthink and worry about certain elements.

While he was certainly a nice person, Marc didn’t bring quite as much humor as some of the other contestants, which ultimately made him slightly less likable than some of the other people within the tent for season 11.

6 David

David was the runner-up for season 11, and he is someone who really improved in likability throughout the show. Early on, it did seem that David was quite arrogant, and he took everything very seriously, which made him one of the less likable people.

However, as time went on he relaxed and began to come out of his shell, with his journey of improvement being clear to see. David threw his all into every challenge, and that did make him very likable, and the more he relaxed and became himself, the more likable he was.

5 Laura

Laura was season 11’s messiest baker, by quite some stretch. Her constant mess after every bake became something of a running joke, but her food always tasted great, which is why she got to the final. Laura was one of the more emotional contestants, often letting bad bakes get to her, but that simply showed she cared about not presenting poor food, which audiences liked.

Laura, unfortunately, came under fire online and got some hateful comments when she made the final, but the way the bakers rallied around her showcased how popular she was within the tent. She was always up for a laugh, brought tons of support and her friendship with Matt Lucas over their shared love for musicals was very sweet.

4 Linda

Linda was just overwhelmingly happy to be in the tent, that much was clear. She was one of the older contestants for season 11, but she didn’t let that stop her from giving her all and proving that age is but a number. Linda did everything with a smile and was positive about the entire experience, which was a likable trait.

She may not have been the most polished baker, but she laughed off any mistakes and did seem to learn a lot throughout. Linda certainly brought a lot of joy to the tent in season 11, which is why she was such a hit.

3 Mark

Mark just brought tons of lighthearted energy to the show, with a really positive attitude which is why people tune in to this series every year. The Irishman was just tons of fun and was always happy to have a laugh and a joke with his fellow contestants and judges.

As a baker, he was certainly very talented which is always important, but it was the sheer fact that he was always smiling or joking around that made him very popular. Fans wanted him to last a little longer than he did, and that’s the sign of a really likable baker.

2 Lottie

Lottie brought something totally different to everybody else on the show and it was a refreshing change of pace whenever she was showcased. She didn’t take things seriously, and arguably was a little too relaxed about everything, but that’s what made her so much fun.

Lottie was incredibly sarcastic and had a really dry sense of humor which just suited the show. She was a great baker, but she was also a lot of fun as well, with her chemistry with Noel Fielding being particularly enjoyable to watch.

1 Hermine

Hermine was the true fan favorite of season 11, and the fact she didn’t make it to the final was something that left fans outraged online. Hermine was a terrific baker and brought a huge amount of personality and charisma to the show, which made her such a hit.

She was clearly a very kind individual and she always worked hard, while never taking herself too seriously. She would happily joke around with everybody and provided some of the funniest moments in the show, which is why she will go down as the very best from this season.
