The 2021 movie ends with closure, as Delia passes aways after telling the de la Mora siblings that everything will be all right. In the future, a sequel or series continuation would theoretically update audiences about the life and times of Paulina, Elena (Aislinn Derbez), and Julián (Darío Yazbek Bernal), along with its diverse representation of LGBTQ+ characters.

Suárez has been praised for her franchise performance as Paulina, and she’s unsurprisingly the focus of the 2021 Netflix movie. The House Of Flowers: The Movie 2 could further expand her storyline, whether it’s by focusing on conflict with her siblings or with her son Bruno. Moving forward, all of the main cast members can reprise their roles, either in present-day storylines or during flashback sequences.

If greenlit, The House of Flowers: The Movie 2 probably wouldn’t release for several years. Caro has new projects in the works (including the films Straight and Extraños Que Se Besan), in addition to his new Netflix collaboration with Suárez, Someone Has to Die. As for The House of Flowers, he may choose to update the storyline with a new movie within the next five years, though the series was canceled in 2020.
