Warning! Spoilers ahead for Justice League #63!

In Justice League #63, Aquaman and Hawkgirl reveal their favorite Earth in the Multiverse, Earth-42, the home of the Lil’ League. Just before this, the Justice League face off against Naomi’s nemesis Zumbado. With the Justice League in shambles, thanks to the way Naomi’s world affects their powers, it’s clear that they aren’t prepared to fight Zumbado. Despite this, Naomi goes rogue and tries to take him on alone. Pulling back Naomi, who is determined to defeat Zumbado, they retreat back to Earth-0.

Superman and the other league members try to explain the feeling that Naomi has, which they call “the pull.” Naomi regrets leaving the terrorized citizens of her world in the hands of Zumbado. This leads Superman and Batman to explain the concept of the multiverse to Naomi. Detailing how there are 52 known Earths and that some of the worlds are doppelgängers, that reflect their own reality. Superman explains that they all have experienced the pull to these other Earths and always feel like they can do better and help more people. However, they know that they can’t save everyone, but do the best they can to protect the citizens of their own Earth. This conversation leads a few members to reveal their favorite Earth they’ve encountered.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

In Justice League #63 by Brian Michael Bendis, David Marquez, and Ivan Plascencia, Aquaman reveals that the league’s favorite alternate reality is Earth-42, home of the Lil’ League. As a contrast to Batman’s dark sentiments about coming across nightmarish versions of themselves in alternate realities, Aquaman highlights the opposite. Earth-42 is the home of the Lilliputian versions of Superman, Batman, and many others. They first debuted in Action Comics #9 by Grant Morrison and Gene Ha. Essentially, the Lil’ League is the Justice League’s tiny, cartoon-like doppelgängers. Their world is one the most peaceful in the multiverse, as they hold the title of the least violent Earth.

For a while, the Lil’ League knew nothing of the darkness that their counterparts face daily. This was all until Earth-45’s Superdoomsday arrived and killed their versions of Superman and Batman, marking the first deaths on Earth-42. However, it seems, the emphasis in this issue is on the good of their world. Readers could infer that in Infinite Frontier‘s reality those tragedies didn’t occur, however, it’s more likely that they are just choosing to remember the adorable nature of their world.

Although the multiverse has many bad things hidden within it, there are also a lot of great aspects to it. It’s nice to see Aquaman and Hawkgirl acknowledge some of the good amidst Batman’s brooding speech about meeting the worst versions of themselves. Additionally, it must be noted that Flash and Black Canary bring up that there are maybe more Earths out there, teasing the introduction of Earth-Omega, DC’s new mystery Earth in Infinite Frontier. Justice League #63 is available in comic book stores and on digital platforms now.
