Demise is the final boss of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD. This guide will show players how they can defeat him. Skyward Sword HD is officially releasing for the Nintendo Switch with a handful of quality-of-life improvements. Outside of the obvious motion controls being mapped to an analog stick, players are able to skip cutscenes, avoid reoccurring item collection dialogue sequences, and completely ignore Fi whenever she has something to say. Not only that but this version of the game has improved graphics and frame rates. Throughout Link’s long journey to create the Master Sword and save his longtime friend, Zelda, Demise is the final challenge separating the player from the end of the game. This guide will show players how they can defeat him.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Demise is the original version of Ganondorf as he continues to make an appearance in one way or another throughout the series. While a majority of the game focuses on Ghirahim as the main antagonist, it is revealed that he is just a pawn in his plans. Once Demise makes an appearance, he instantly pulls a sword out of Ghirahim’s body. This will set the stage for the final battle that plans to kick off the rest of the Zelda mythos. This guide will show players how they can defeat him.

How To Defeat Demise in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD (Final Boss)

This fight can be broken down into 3 different phases. Here is how players can deal with each of them.

  • Phase 1: Right as the battle begins, the player will want to get as close to Demise as possible. Getting too far away will cause him to lunge at Link. Approach and hit him with a forehand slash and then a backhand slash. Repeat this process until he attacks. Runaway then get back to attacking him.
  • Phase 2: Now, the arena will fill with rain and lightning. Players can now use the Skyward Strike to deal some serious damage. Raise Link’s sword in the air and shoot the projectile as fast as you can. Once it lands, get close and personal and continue to attack him.
  • Phase 3: Now it is time for the final blow. Demise will fall over and the game will fake the player out to land the final blow. If the player attempts, Demise will attack rapidly. The best thing to do is stay close and personal and continue to get him in the final blow animation. When he falls over for the third time, land the final blow and finish this battle.

Players will now be treated to the end credits. It reveals tons about past and future titles of the Zelda series. This is where it all began.
