The Mandalorian explained and animated by a non-viewer on TikTok is impressively accurate. The hit Disney+ series ended season 2 last fall with a heartfelt farewell between the titular Mandalorian, Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu, a.k.a Baby Yoda. The Mandalorian was recently announced as a Golden Globe nominee for Best Drama Television Series.

If season 1 was about Djarin rescuing Baby Yoda, season 2 was primarily about letting his adorable green adopted son go. Djarin was quested with reuniting Baby Yoda with his own kind, i.e. the Jedi, so he could be trained in the ways of the Force. After Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) refused to work with Baby Yoda after sensing his intense fear, Djarin eventually had to say goodbye when Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) offered to teach him instead. Djarin was left without his cute companion for the first time in the entire show. However, as The Mandalorian‘s resident evil guy Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) gleefully pointed out in the season 2 finale, Djarin is now the rightful owner of the Darksaber, the weapon that technically makes him the rightful ruler of Mandalore over Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff.)

Smallbu Animation created a hilarious animated synopsis of what they think The Mandalorian is about based off of their friends’ Twitter posts. Their video explaining The Mandalorian is surprisingly accurate for someone who’s never seen the show before. Check out the entire animated video below.

The animated video is close to The Mandalorian‘s actual plot, particularly while illustrating the adorable father-son relationship between Djarin and Baby Yoda with impressive accuracy (there is no question Baby Yoda eats everything and gets into a lot of mischief). The Mandalorian has certainly proven its place in pop culture ever since the show premiered. The series has even had the distinction of being the first non-Netflix show ever to top the Nielsen streaming charts.

Since season 2 is now complete, it will be interesting to see where season 3 goes in terms of story now that Baby Yoda is off training with Luke. It’s unknown if Bo-Katan will be forced to fight Djarin to get the Darksaber back honorably, as well as when Baby Yoda and Mando will reunite. Although story details about The Mandalorian season 3 remain tightly under wraps at this point, the live-action Star Wars series remains as popular as ever. It may be a while before Djarin and company are seen again, but hopefully the show’s return will be worth the long wait. In the meantime, entertaining videos like this one provide a good distraction.
