Find out how to make the soup Baby Yoda enjoyed on The Mandalorian with a video by YouTube star Binging With Babish. From the first instant he appeared in surprise fashion in the last moments of The Mandalorian episode 1, the character known only as The Child – but naturally called Baby Yoda by everyone else – has captured the hearts of not only Star Wars fans but seemingly the entire world.

Amid full-on Baby Yoda mania, the internet has been utterly taken over by memes, mash-up videos and fan created art featuring the little green, big-eared alien. Of course, fans are also clamoring for Baby Yoda merchandise, but Disney just weren’t ready for the hype that would accompany the character’s arrival and failed to get merch ready for Christmas. Jon Favreau surely is happy that Baby Yoda wasn’t hyped up ahead of The Mandalorian’s arrival on Disney+, as it allowed him to pull off the stunning episode 1 reveal. Still, Disney probably regrets not letting the Baby Yoda cat out of the bag earlier, given all the money they’re losing by not having merchandise available.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Fans may not yet be able to get their hands on Baby Yoda merch, but at least they can now eat the same food as their favorite infant alien. YouTube chef Binging With Babish took on the task of recreating the simple bone broth Baby Yoda was seen casually sipping – in a very meme-worthy moment – in episode 4 while Mando (Pedro Pascal) and Cara Dune (Gina Carano) battled it out for Alpha status. In The Mandalorian, the Sorgan innkeeper who makes bone broth for Baby Yoda uses the bones of a creature called a grinjer, but of course there is no grinjer available on Earth so Babish uses beef bones. Vegetables are also added to Babish’s recipe, which is then simmered for two days in a pot. For those who need their bone broth in speedier fashion however, Babish demonstrates how to make the recipe in a pressure cooker using chicken feet to help the broth gel. Being a chef, Babish proceeds to demonstrate different ways to serve the bone broth including adding whipped cream or using it in very fancy soup.

Obviously, the bone broth on Sorgan is a lot less elaborate than the stuff made by Babish on YouTube, but Baby Yoda didn’t seem to mind the simplicity of his soup as he was definitely enjoying it (and the internet indeed has enjoyed using the resulting Baby Yoda soup meme). No doubt, many more big Baby Yoda moments are in the offing as The Mandalorian continues to unfold on Disney+, and indeed prepares to move into a second season.
