The artist formerly known as Baby Yoda has become something of a pop culture phenomenon, and perhaps unintendedly so. While his cute looks and adorable antics should have him a shoo-in for the most loveable Star Wars creature in the galaxy, it does seem as if Jon Favreau and his creative team underestimated just how well the character would go over.

It’s not all sunshine and rainbows, however. For all his sweetness and charm, this little child born of Yoda’s mysterious species has done some questionable and terrible things since The Mandalorian debuted. It remains to be seen where the character will go, but for now, here’s a list of the worst things Baby Yoda has done thus far. This article will be expanded upon as the series progresses.

10 Frog-Eating

Little Baby Yoda started out as a cute and cuddly little creature that stole the hearts of Star Wars fans the world over, but it wasn’t long before he started showing off some truly bad (and disgusting) habits. His most infamous is his tendency to eat anything that moves, regardless of how repulsive.

Frogs were first on the menu. After swallowing one whole, it quickly became apparent that little Grogu had a rather voracious appetite, and nothing was off the menu. He’d try again a second time in front of group of small children before spitting it out, much to their laughter.

9 Stealing The Gear Knob

Grogu’s fascination with the spherical gear knob on Mando’s Razor Crest continues to be a source of speculation for many Star Wars fans. Nevertheless, he viewed it as something of a toy, at least as far as children’s toys go. He would steal this knob multiple times throughout the series, much to Mando’s annoyance.

After the Empire obliterated the Razor Crest, the only salvageable thing in the rubble was the gear knob. It was a heartbreaking moment when Mando picked it out of the wreckage, probably regretting not giving it to him permanently as a gift.

8 Piloting The Razor Crest

The first season showed what happens when one turns their back on Grogu. The little critter tends to get himself into as much hot water as possible, and that includes fiddling around with the Razor Crest control. While Mando and ex-Republic officer Cara Dune were below deck, Grogu decided to mimic Star Wars: Squadrons for a spell, sending the ship tumbling to and fro.

Eventually, Mando made it to the cockpit where he promptly regained control of the ship. Cara Dune expressed annoyance at Grogu’s penchant for getting himself into trouble, and the two were forced to leave him in the care of a babysitter while they went about completing their mission.

7 Force-Strangling Cara Dune

Perhaps the most ominous moment of Grogu’s young life occurred during some R&R. Mando and Cara decided to arm-wrestle below decks as a gesture of their natural competitiveness. Grogu watched, and for some reason became antagonistic towards Cara. He reached out with the Force and began strangling her, much like the Sith Lords of old.

This was an immediate red flag for Star Wars fans who realized that for all his amazing Force powers, Grogu was rudderless and without a Master to train him. Left to his own devices, Grogu was capable of immense good, and immense evil at the same time. The latter could still spell trouble as the show progresses.

6 He Bit A Stormtrooper

This one was rather comical, and it’s safe to say the victim deserved it. It occurred after two Scout Stormtroopers chased down Kuiil on speeder bikes and murdered him, then took Grogu prisoner. As they waited for further commands, the troopers began poking Grogu out of curiosity.

Realizing they were bad, Grogu took a bite out of one of their fingers when it got too close. It was a hilarious moment in the series, and quite tame compared to what Grogu could have done with the Force, if he so chose.

5 Awakening The Ice Spiders

After scarfing down several of the Frog Lady’s eggs and being chastised for doing so, Grogu turned his attention to a new potential meal. He found new eggs to dine on in an ice cave which contained spider hatchlings. After eating one, it alerted the other eggs to begin hatching.

Soon, Mando and company were overwhelmed by a seemingly endless horde of horrific ice spiders and their far more dangerous mature brethren. If it were not for the assistance of two benevolent (and patient) New Republic officers, they would surely have been doomed.

4 Eating The Eggs

Star Wars fans were both shocked and amused when bratty Baby Yoda began dining on the Frog Lady’s eggs during a transport to Mon Calamari. Mando caught him dipping his grubby little fingers into the tank, and rightfully freaked out as a result.

After narrowly escaping the planet of the ice spiders, both the Frog Lady and Mando decided to get some rest as the battered Razor Crest limped its way to its destination. When both looked away, Grogu pulled out one last egg and wolfed it down while Star Wars fans smacked their foreheads in dismay.

3 Bad Thoughts

Mando agreed to help a group of Mandalorians led by Mandalore heiress Bo-Katan on an assault against an Imperial cargo ship containing a cache of valuable weapons. He decided to leave Grogu in the company of the only person he trusted – the Frog Lady.

He returned to find Grogu reaching for the Frog Lady’s newly hatched child fluttering about in a bowl of water. While the Frog Lady probably assumed Grogu wished to play, Mando knew better. Luckily, he arrived in time to take Grogu with him, while the little troublemaker tried in vain to grab and eat the young tadpole.

2 Stealing The Macarons

After leaving Mon Calamari, Mando traveled back to Navarro and took up a job helping Cara Dune and Greef Karga destroy a nearby Imperial base. Before he left, Mando decided to place Grogu in the care of a protocol droid programmed for classroom teaching duties.

While sitting at a desk, Grogu spied a nearby child’s macaron treats and used the Force to yank them away while the boy wasn’t looking. Shamelessly, Grogu devoured the treats as crumbs tumbled out of his mouth, while the child looked on in dismay.

1 Releasing His Anger

After his capture by Moff Gideon’s forces, Grogu was imprisoned in a holding cell in preparation for whatever fate awaited him. Gideon entered the cell and saw Grogu tossing stormtroopers repeatedly against the walls using the Force, no doubt out of a sense of anger.

While this amused Gideon, it was a terrible moment for Grogu. He had just reached out through a Force conduit for help from other Jedi when he was taken. Without the comfort of Mando as a father figure and protector, Grogu began lashing out. Such actions were the first step towards the path of the Dark Side.
