New The Mandalorian season 2 fan art sees Mando trap Starkiller, aka Galen Marek, in carbonite. The Mandalorian first premiered last November as one of the first original programs to be included on Disney+. It didn’t take long for the series to become a cultural phenomenon, largely thanks to the little surprise tucked at the end of the first episode. While The Mandalorian was initially thought to focus on the titular bounty hunter (Pedro Pascal) as he travels the galaxy, the pilot revealed his true mission would be to protect a powerful tyke known as Baby Yoda, or as Disney likes to call him, The Child.

The Mandalorian will return for season 2 next month, and anticipation is already sky-high. It will pick up directly after the first season finale, which ended with Mando and Baby Yoda jetting off to places unknown. Baby Yoda needs a new home where he will be safe, but it’s guaranteed that the nefarious Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) won’t be far behind them, as he has his own reasons for wanting to get his hands on Baby Yoda. Still, much of The Mandalorian‘s season 2 story remains a mystery, leaving fans to come up with their own ideas.

In a new piece of fan art from PhaseRunner, the Mandalorian has crossed paths with Star Wars: The Force Unleashed‘s Starkiller. In that game, Starkiller is one of Darth Vader’s apprentices. Based on this fan art, he wasn’t the victor of his clash with the Mandalorian, for he’s now firmly trapped in carbonite. Check it out down below.

Interestingly enough, Starkiller might actually exist within The Mandalorian canon. Starkiller’s voice actor, Sam Witwer, noted last winter that one element of The Force Unleashed was actually included in the show, which would then suggest that other parts of the game exist within the universe. Of course, it remains to be seen if The Mandalorian will ever choose to implement other pieces of the game, but it’s a fun thing to pick out nevertheless.

The Mandalorian season 2 already looks to have its hands full with other pre-established Star Wars characters. While Disney has yet to officially confirm their presence, it seems likely that Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson), Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison), and Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) will appear in the new season. Luckily, however, a season 3 is already in development, so there’s a chance The Mandalorian will add other fun characters in the future. For the time being, though, fans can just imagine what the Mandalorian did to get Starkiller in carbonite.

The Mandalorian season 2 will premiere on October 30 on Disney+.
