The Masked Singer is gearing up for season 7, and the show gave fans the inside scoop by airing the season’s first performance during a sneak peek on Fox. The Masked Singer season 7 premieres on March 9th, and while fans typically have to wait until the end of episode one for a contestant to be revealed, this time the show caused quite the controversy when it was reported former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani was inside one of the costumes. While it hasn’t been revealed which costume he’s in, fans do know that upon his reveal, panelists Robin Thicke and Ken Jeong quickly walked off stage in protest.

The upcoming season is switching up its format once again with three groups of contestants – the good, the bad, and the cuddly. Whether or not fans approve, Giuliani seemingly fits perfectly into one of these groups. The Masked Singer has been revealing costumes on Twitter, but during the sneak peek, fans finally got to see every outlandish character that will be performing on the show. Baby Mammoth, Queen Cobra, and Firefly are just three of ten contestants in the new season. Each contestant also revealed one clue image, including Wizard of Oz-esque ruby slippers and an image of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

The biggest surprise of the sneak peek was when one hidden celebrity from the cuddly group stepped on stage for the first performance of season 7. Space Bunny stepped on stage, accompanied by the men in black and was met with applause from The Masked Singer panelists and audience before his rendition of Harry Belafonte’s “Jump in the Line (Shake, Señora)” The contestant took center stage as they danced in the giant bunny-astronaut costume singing along to the tune. Panelists danced along with Nicole Scherzinger shaking her fringe dress to the beat.

While fans have only seen one performance from Space Bunny so far, they’re already taking their best guesses for who may be behind the mask. While some fans on Twitter guessed everyone from George Lopez to Jimmy Buffett, some fans were positive they recognized Space Bunny’s voice as reggae singer Shaggy. Space Bunny’s clue for the night was an image of the state of North Carolina. Twitter user and The Masked Singer fan @Devinemagic seemingly has the perfect explanation, “I think it’s Shaggy (based on the voice/accent) and Shaggy did a cover of the “Oh Carolina” song in the ’90s.

Fans were certainly excited to see the first performance of the season, and they’re clearly not holding back with their guesses. While it typically takes fans a few episodes before they start making confident guesses, this time around, their guesses came early. There’s no telling how accurate or inaccurate their guesses are and fans certainly won’t know for sure anytime soon. They’ll just have to tune in on March 9th to see what happens.

The Masked Singer season 7 premieres March 9 at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
