The Masked Singer: What Tamera Mowry Was Doing Before Being Seashell

Tamera Mowry-Housley was revealed as the Seashell on Wednesday night’s episode of The Masked Singer, and the fans want to learn even more about her career prior to the show. All season long, no one in the judging panel was able to figure out who she was, until the night she was eliminated. Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger guessed a number of different celebrities throughout the season, such as Ashanti, Keke Palmer, and Alicia Silverstone. While they were on the right track, Seashell’s true identity did not hit them until the latest episode.

The new season of the Fox reality series premiered in March 2021. So far, the fans have seen the Phoenix, Raccoon, Grandpa Monster, and more get eliminated. Upon having their identities revealed, the cast on this season has included reality stars, singers, and actors go home in the past month, and fans cannot wait to see who else gets unmasked. Maybe even Jamie Foxx, a panel favorite, will be revealed under one of the final six masks.

So what was Tamera Mowry up to before she decided to join The Masked Singer? The actress stepped away from her full-time career as an actress to be a co-host on the daytime talk show The Real. She co-hosted that talk show alongside Jeannie Mai, Tamar Braxton, Adrienne Bailon, and Loni Love. However, she left the talk show in July 2020, following Amanda Seales’ short run with the show. Even though she took a step back from acting, Mowry has taken on some roles in the past few years. Recently, she did two Christmas films for the Hallmark channel: A Chrismas Miracle in 2019 and Christmas Comes Twice in 2020. Mowry and her husband, Adam Housley, also own and operate a vineyard and tasting room in Napa, which is where they live.

In 2021, Mowry also runs a YouTube channel called The Housley Life. The digital series centers around her family life and what they do throughout the weeks. Their content includes cooking videos, what they do in the day-to-day, and even Q&As with Mowery and her husband. Videos are uploaded every Wednesday, so the fans can keep up with Mowry and her family life. Her most recent video showed her talking about her experience on The Masked Singer and what it was like singing in front of an audience for the first time in 20 years. Mowry did suffer from nervousness, but she was able to conquer her fear by owning every performance.

All in all, Tamra Mowry was pretty busy before competing on The Masked Singer, and she will continue to be busy now that she has been eliminated. With her upcoming acting roles, her Napa winery, and raising two children, we have to wonder how Mowry even had the time to compete on the show. Hopefully, her appearance only brings her greater opportunities.
