With The Mindy Project focusing on Mindy’s career and love life, Mindy is the most loveable character on the sitcom, and fans love seeing the highs and lows of her path. Over the entire series, fans see Mindy interacting with co-workers, friends, and love interests, some much easier to like than others. Although the characters do grow and change a bit, it’s clear who is charming and who has some problematic personality traits.

While fans enjoy watching Mindy no matter what she’s going through, there are some other notable characters who are memorable because they’re incredibly sweet or because they are immature people with a lot to learn.

10 Jody Kimball-Kinney

When comparing The Mindy Project episodes, some of the more lackluster ones involve Jody, a new doctor who joins Mindy’s practice after moving from the south with his sister Colette.

Jody is a terrible person, as he’s offensive, discriminatory, and sexist. He develops feelings for Mindy, who has always had a strong bond with Danny that she finds tough to walk away from. Fans don’t like seeing Mindy and Jody flirt as his bad behavior makes it tough to believe that there is any chemistry between them.

9 Anna Ziev

While fans learn that Anna has gotten divorced and that she’s struggling with the end of her marriage, it takes a while for the character to seem like she has much personality, and she’s harsh and unfriendly for the first little while.

Anna is one of the most unlikable The Mindy Project characters. It’s moving to watch Jeremy bond with Anna and help her through her divorce, but Anna seems conceited and like she thinks that she’s better than her co-workers.

8 Jeremy Reed

Jeremy and Mindy’s brief relationship is one of the worst The Mindy Project plotlines, and while Jeremy becomes more mature and caring by the end of the sitcom, he’s hard to like for the first few seasons.

Jeremy is conceited and stubborn, and while he’s focused on being a good doctor, he needs to work harder to be a better friend, partner, and co-worker. Jeremy redeems himself a bit by giving Anna advice about being single later on, but it takes a while for fans to like him more.

7 Danny Castellano

At first, Danny is a loveable, charming, and funny character on the sitcom, and he and Mindy have some clear chemistry from the start. As the show goes on, it becomes tougher to love Danny and he shows his flaws.

When fans find out that Danny wants to have a traditional marriage and he doesn’t want Mindy to work after having their son Leo, viewers dislike Danny and wish that he would be more supportive and understanding of Mindy. It feels like he wants to change her and that’s problematic.

6 Ben

Out of Mindy’s love interests, Ben just might be the nicest person. He’s ready for commitment and shows up for Mindy when he needs to and the idea of a long-distance relationship doesn’t even scare him.

When Ben ends their marriage because he loves Mindy more than she loves him, and he knows that it isn’t the right relationship for her, Ben becomes a lot more likable. It takes guts and strength to admit something as tough as this.

5 Colette Kimball-Kinney

Jody’s sister Colette joins the practice as well, and her friendship with Morgan is enjoyable and sweet to watch.

While Jody is difficult to like because he has such offensive and old-school values, Colette is friendly, polite, and nice. Colette’s friendship with Morgan allows fans to get to know her and like her as she’s got a fun personality. Colette has trouble with Jody as he doesn’t offer her the support and compassion that she wants from a family member.

4 Peter Prentice

While Mindy has many The Mindy Project love interests, Mindy and Peter are just friends, and fans love watching them goof around and have fun together. Peter is an incredibly likable character as he might not be that mature, but he’s always kind and a good friend.

When Mindy visits Peter in Austin where he has moved with Lauren, she realizes that he’s struggling and has been watching Grey’s Anatomy instead of going to work. This storyline is endearing and helps fans relate to Peter more as he can admit when he’s made a mistake or having a hard time.

3 Morgan Tookers

Morgan is one of the most hilarious characters on The Mindy Project and his friendly nature and kindness make him one of the most loveable.

Morgan’s love for Mindy often results in some funny scenes, as he hopes that they have a close, deep friendship that is as meaningful to her as it is to him. While the sitcom does delve into more serious storylines like Mindy and Danny’s parenting problems after having Leo, Morgan keeps the lighthearted tone alive in many episodes.

2 Tamra Webb

Tamra is one of the best characters, with her intelligence, sense of humor, and great work ethic. Tamra’s romance with Morgan is also one of the best relationships on The Mindy Project.

Tamra speaks her mind, makes jokes, and has fun at the office while still working hard. Tamra is one of the most memorable characters on the sitcom. Not everyone is friendly and welcoming when new people join the practice, but Tamra is a smiling and caring presence at the office.

1 Mindy Lahiri

While watching Mindy fall in love with Danny while wanting to keep her identity as a mom to Leo and keep working, fans love and support Mindy throughout her entire journey.

Mindy maintains her optimism even when she’s single and wishing that she had someone to share her life with. Viewers love her sense of humor and how good she is at her job. Mindy’s friendly personality and appreciation for pop culture make her one of the most compelling sitcom characters.
