There are many great characters in Netflix’s The Mitchells vs. the Machines and a great voice acting cast who brings the characters to life, from Broad City’s Abbi Jacobson to Saturday Night Live’s Maya Rudolph, as well as comedian Eric Andre, who also voices Luci in Netflix’s Disenchantment.

Fans of The Mitchells vs. the Machines will likely recognize many voices throughout. Here is some of the best work from the cast to date.

10 Abbi Jacobson As Katie Mitchell: Broad City

Abbi Jacobson stars in and co-created Broad City, which follows two young women, Abbi and Ilana, in their various misadventures in New York City. The Comedy Central show is a fan favorite series and has a 99 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Jacobson voices the main character Katie Mitchell in The Mitchells vs the Machines as the charismatic aspiring film student who can’t wait to get away from her family and go to college to find her people. Instead, she’s stranded with her family, fighting against robots intent on capturing every human. By the end of the movie, Katie reconnects with her family and the Mitchells create a bond stronger than they’ve ever had before.

9 Danny McBride As Rick Mitchell: Vice Principals

Vice Principals stars McBride and Walton Goggins as two vice principals who will do anything and everything to get to the top of the school hierarchy and become principal, with shocking and disastrous results.

8 Maya Rudolph As Linda Mitchell: Bridesmaids

Maya Rudolph is best known for her time as a cast member on SNL, but she’s also well known for starring alongside fellow SNL alum Kristen Wiig in Bridesmaids. The movie follows Rudolph’s character and her bridesmaids in various chaotic situations leading up to her wedding day.

In The Mitchells vs the Machines, Rudolph voices Linda Mitchell, the caring, strong, and fierce mediator who tries to help her family reconnect before her daughter Katie leaves for college.

7 Eric Andre As Mark Bowman: Disenchantment

Eric Andre voices Mark Bowman in the movie, the tech inventor of PAL, and as mentioned, the prominent comedian also voices one of the main characters in Matt Groening’s new Netflix series, Disenchantment.

In the medieval series, Andre voices the charismatic demon Luci, who befriends Princess Bean (voiced by Abbi Jacobson). In addition to Disenchantment, fans should definitely check out Adult Swim’s The Eric Andre Show if they’ve not yet seen it.

6 Olivia Colman As PAL: Broadchurch

Olivia Colman voices the main antagonist in the villainous AI phone, PAL, who launches the robot uprising. She brings a sophisticated intensity to the animated character that’s on par with the rest of her stellar filmography.

Colman has received so many accolades in her career, thus far and first rose to prominence with her role in the original UK version of The Office. In the mystery thriller series Broadchurch, she stars alongside David Tennant as two detectives sent to the small town of Broadchurch to investigate a murder.

5 Beck Bennett As Eric: Sing

Beck Bennett voices one of the robots that the Mitchells befriend at the beginning of the robot invasion, who happily joins the Mitchell family.

Bennett is best known for his time on SNL, but he also voiced one of the characters in the animated movie Sing, where he shows off his singing skills. Sing follows a koala struggling to keep his theater open so he decides to create his own singing competition, bringing in hundreds of animals wanting to audition to be part of the contest.

4 Fred Armisen As Deborahbot 5000: Portlandia

Fred Armisen voices the other robot the Mitchells befriend in the movie, who helps them try to take down the evil robots.

Armisen is known for his time on SNL, but he’s also known for creating and starring in the irreverent comedic look at Portland, Oregon, Portlandia, along with co-star Carrie Brownstein, as they live their lives throughout various comedic sketches.

3 Charlyne Yi As Abby Posey: Next Gen

Charlyne Yi voices the perfect Posey daughter, Abby, in Mitchells vs. the Machines, and while it’s a smaller voice acting role, she voiced the main character in Netflix’s Next Gen.

In Next Gen, Yi voices the rebellious Mai Su, who refuses to accept the robotic technology and technological helpers in her futuristic reality. Mai’s hesitance proves to be correct when a madman uses the influence of the robots to try to take over the world, in a very similar plot to Mitchells vs. the Machines.

2 John Legend As Jim Posey: La La Land

John Legend is most known for his music, but he has had a few film roles in his career so far, as well. He’s best known for appearing in La La Land as a musician who has a different philosophy than Ryan Gosling’s main character in the movie musical.

In The Mitchells vs the Machines, Legend voices the seemingly perfect father and husband Jim Posey of the perfect Posey family, alongside his real-life wife Chrissy Teigen, who voices Hailey Posey and who Linda Mitchell is jealous of throughout the movie.

1 Alex Hirsch As Dirk: Gravity Falls

Alex Hirsch is best known for his work creating and voicing various characters on Gravity Falls, including main character Grunkle Stan and protagonist twins Dipper and Mabel, as they visit their Great Uncle Stan in the odd and supernatural town of Gravity Falls.
