A new South Park game is currently in development, and it would be a great opportunity to make a sequel to one of the earliest South Park video games, Chef’s Love Shack. A recent job listing from Question Games has given insight into the upcoming South Park game, citing several of the key job requirements including multiplayer level design. While other previous South Park video games have included multiplayer gameplay, it would be just as fun to see a revival of the party-style trivia game show featured in Chef’s Love Shack.

Chef’s Love Shack was a multiplayer-only trivia game developed by Acclaim Studios Austin and featured general trivia questions as well as fun mini-games in between rounds of questions. Chef’s Love Shack was a blast to play with friends and is the only game of its kind in a series that has tried just about every video game genre. The two most recent South Park games, developed by Ubisoft, featured turn-based RPG gameplay, and other games have included first-person shooters, side-scrolling platforming, and kart racing to name a few.

In simplest terms, Chef’s Love Shack deserves a sequel because it would be fun to play with friends. The Stick of Truth and The Fractured but Whole, Ubisoft’s most recent South Park games, featured single-player gameplay only, which doesn’t create the same play atmosphere that a party-style game can. South Park could always be relied on for a good laugh, and Chef’s Love Shack could be an excellent change of pace for the series.

The New South Park Game Should Be A Multiplayer Party Game

Right now is the best time for a multiplayer-only South Park party game. Though Ubisoft’s The Stick of Truth and The Fractured but Whole were fantastic games in their own right, it would be a shame if Question Games created another turn-based South Park RPG. As much fun as turn-based RPGs can be, there’s something to be said about getting a few friends together, playing a party game, shouting at the TV together, and laughing all along the way. Games like Mario KartMario Party, and Jackbox games are best played with as many people in the room as possible, and a sequel to Chef’s Love Shack could do the same for South Park.

Video game technology has come a long way since Chef’s Love Shack first debuted in 1998, and the game could definitely use a facelift. That being said, Chef’s Love Shack admittedly isn’t the best South Park video game. Despite that, the game itself was entertaining, funny, and especially fun to play with a bunch of friends. It would be interesting, and a good time, to see the next South Park game keeping the party alive with a new Chef’s Love Shack.
