Jim Halpert, played by the American actor John Krasinski, is one of the most beloved characters appearing in the legendary sitcom The Office. Playing Jim for nine whole seasons brought Krasinski to stardom, and for a good reason. His Jim is charming, funny, intelligent and he has just the right amount of sarcasm in him to make him very relatable.

Plus, he truly hates his job which is a feeling a lot of people share with him and can relate to. Almost everybody has worked a boring and unfulfilling job at one point in their life. However, Jim has managed to make even his work look cool. And even though The Office has already ended, these memes are helping to keep it alive in our minds and hearts.

10 The Rules of Studying

The general rule of a thumb clearly states that if one has exams coming, one will do anything in his or her power to avoid studying for said exams. It’s at times like these when you suddenly find yourself spending a lot of time with your friends, partying or reading one book after another or binge-watching shows on Netflix if you’re more of a quiet type.

Alternatively, you can choose the same approach as Jim and decide to divide your time between procrastinating and distracting your friends/fellow students/co-workers. As all fans of The Office know very well, Jim spends a lot of time playing pranks on Dwight or chatting with Pam but very little time actually doing his work.

9 Don’t Be Dwight

Another meme is very simple and brief but it speaks volumes nonetheless. As you well know, if you’ve seen The Office, Dwight Schrute is Jim’s colleague, frenemy and rival who also happens to be one of the most bizarre people working in the Dunder Mifflin office. And that’s saying a lot, believe us.

Jim often pulls pranks on Dwight and one of the best he ever did was pretending to be Dwight. Needless to say, Jim’s impression of Dwight was spot-on and it drove the real Dwight crazy, made him go and complain to their boss Michael. So if you want to make fun of your colleague, here’s a good idea.

8 Jim On A Beach

We’ve already mentioned Jim’s general attitude to work in Dunder Mifflin. Various characters throughout the show point out that Jim could be much better at work if only he’d shown some actual effort. But instead, Jim does everything he can to do as little as physically possible without losing his job (because then he wouldn’t be in the same building as his crush and later girlfriend Pam).

So it doesn’t really come as a surprise that Jim sometimes really chills out and acts like he’s on a beach even while he’s supposed to be working. And hey, maybe this attitude is wrong but at least it doesn’t bring you premature gray hairs.

7 Time For Lunch

As will all workers out there in the whole world surely agree, time for lunch is sacred and no-one should be allowed to interfere with it… preferably under the threat of capital punishment. Or at least some serious telling-off. But even if your lunch goes uninterrupted, there’s even a worse scenario in which you actually eat your lunch before your lunchtime and then you’re left looking at your colleagues while they’re stuffing their mouths full.

As this meme proves, Jim knows the feeling and is nothing but sympathetic. When you have no lunch left and it’s lunchtime, you might be actually forced to start working again and that’s just cruel.

6 Aka Peter Parker

Once again Jim pretending to be Dwight. However, this one time, he’s also Peter Parker at the same time. Similarities between these two characters are actually quite obvious if you think about them really hard. Both are intelligent but sometimes considered lazy by others. They crush on a girl who seems to be well out of their reach, at least at first.

For Peter, it’s the gorgeous redhead Mary Jane Watson. For Jim, it’s his sometimes redheaded gorgeous colleague Pam Beesley. And finally, both Peter and Jim grew even more courageous and ambitious as their stories progressed which makes it impossible not to love these guys.

5 Jim Versus Roy

Jim’s long-lasting crush on Pam is one of the main plots of The Office. And we, viewers, get to watch Jim’s and Pam’s journey from friends to a couple to a husband and wife with two small children. But before Jim and Pam got together, she dated another co-worker of her, Roy, and even considered marrying him.

While Roy wasn’t a necessarily bad guy, he just didn’t hold the candle to Jim, both in Pam’s eyes and in the eyes of the fans. The fact that both Jim and Roy loved the same woman led to a few ugly moments but luckily, it all turned out well in the end.

4 Friend Zone

We’ve already discussed the complicated love triangle between Pam, Jim, and Roy which really wasn’t a love triangle at all since Pam never dated both of them at the same time. This also meant that before she finally made her decision and picked Jim, he spent a lot of time in the friend zone.

So much, in fact, he could be called a friend zone champion. The good news is that Jim did manage to win the woman of his dreams over after all. And if he managed it, so can everyone else. At least as long as they look like John Krasinski.

3 King Of Awkward

Jim works with people who are simply too strange to really fit well anywhere else. So it makes perfect sense that he often finds himself in awkward, sometimes downright unbelievable situations. Like the time his boss Michael threatened to jump off the roof. Or the time his co-worker Meredith made a pass at him.

But no matter how weird the situation is, Jim always somehow manages to look cool. His sarcastic remarks are a big reason for that. And also the fact that Jim manages to find an opportunity to laugh – sometimes with others, more often at them – wherever he goes.

2 Master Of Trolls

Not only is Jim Halpert king of awkward and a former friend zone champion but he also deserves the honorable title of Master of Trolls. Or a Troll Master? Whatever, it doesn’t matter. We’re not talking about trolls living underneath bridges but the pure and wonderful art of trolling others.

Jim excels at that and it leads to many hilarious moments. Like when he pretends to be dead in front of Dwight. Or when he pretends he got turned into a vampire after he was bitten by a bat. And finally, when he hides his annoying colleague Andy’s phone in the ceiling. Simply brilliant.

1 A Lack Of Nonsense

The Office is gold among sitcoms. Even though it was heavily inspired by an original British series, it found its own voice. And Jim is one of the main reasons why the show keeps on making people laugh even though it’s no longer on air. The other reason is the huge amount of jokes, cracks, weird characters, pranks… in one word, nonsense, which is present in pretty much every episode of the show.

And while Jim isn’t responsible for each of these funny moments, he stands between a lot of them. Which all fans of The Office know and others should definitely find out. We’ve got to warn you, though – once you start watching The Office, it’s almost impossible to pull away.
