In season 3 of The Office, Andy Bernard joined the Scranton branch and was excited about the possibility of meeting new women at work. He flirted with Angela Martin early on but it got him nowhere until season 4. After helping her with one of her office parties and gifting her a cat, the two began dating.

It was obvious to viewers that Angela was only dating Andy as a way to make her ex-boyfriend Dwight jealous, which is why it was shocking when she accepted Andy’s proposal at the end of season 4. From there on, the two (mainly Andy) started planning their wedding. All the while Angela was still sleeping with Dwight. It wasn’t until Andy found out about the affair that his dream wedding was called off.

The Date Of Andy & Angela’s Wedding

Andy and Angela weren’t the best couples in The Office, but they had some cute moments throughout their strange relationship. However, the two did not communicate well, especially on the date of their wedding.

Funny enough, NBC created Andy and Angela’s wedding website back when the series was running, and it shared the date they chose for their wedding: Thanksgiving. The website was clearly written by Andy and read, “It’s genius! All of our guests are sure to make it because everyone will have the day off. In fact, most people will have a four-day weekend to commute.”

Andy And Angela’s Possible Wedding Locations

After Angela agreed to marry Andy, it was he who started researching and planning for the big day. Angela didn’t do any of the work but had no problems shooting down Andy’s ideas when he shared them.

In one scene, Andy told Angela that he made “nonrefundable deposits at four totally different wedding locales.” Andy and Angela could have gotten married on a hot-air balloon going over Nappa Valley, under the sea in the Bahamas, at Walt Disney’s Epcot Center, or, lastly, in a ballroom at the local Wilkes-Barre Marriott. As great as these venues were, Angela shot down all of them.

A Final Wedding At Schrute Farms

Dwight and Angela had a tricky relationship timeline because they continued seeing each other throughout various relationships. Even when Dwight was showing Schrute Farms as a wedding location for Andy and Angela, Angela admitted to Dwight that she felt stronger for him than for Andy.

Angela was so in love with the soft lighting in Dwight’s barn that she wanted to get married there. The only problem was that she wanted to marry Dwight, not Andy. Before Andy and Angela broke up, it was presumed they chose Schrute Farms as their location.

All Of Those Non-Refundable Honeymoons

In season 5, Andy wasn’t visible in a few episodes. Oscar told the cameras, “He made non-refundable deposits on his honeymoons, so he’s just knocking them off one at a time.” It was cringeworthy that Andy was spending weeks away on different honeymoons by himself.

According to the couple’s wedding website, Andy didn’t care where they went. He wanted a nice hotel room near Schrute Farms that had a “suite with a twin bed (so we can’t help but cuddle), large bathtub, litter box (she wants to take six of her cats – 2 of which are sick, thank you for your prayers), and a grand piano (so I can serenade her with a love song).”

A Sail Boat Cake

In “The Duel,” Andy found out that Angela and Dwight were sleeping together. He challenged Dwight to a duel to determine who was better for Angela.

At the end of the episode, both men were heartbroken and tired and broke up with Angela. Andy was heard on the phone calling the bakery to cancel his sailboat-shaped cake for the Bernard wedding, which gave viewers a small look at the big day’s theme.

A Walk Down The Aisle By Here Comes Treble

Even though Andy and Angela were an awful couple, Office fans felt sad for Andy when she rejected every idea he had for their wedding. After all, it was his wedding too.

In “Launch Party,” Andy introduced his former Cornell a cappella group to Angela when they sang her a song. And in “Weight Loss,” Andy noted that Here Comes Treble was booked to sing at their wedding. More than that, Andy asked the entire group to be his groomsmen.

A Holiday-Themed First Dance

Before Angela and Andy started dating, Angela showed her love of Christmas early on at one of the office’s Christmas parties. She sang “The Little Drummer Boy” with Dwight’s help and it was one of the few times Angela seemed approachable. It was also one of The Office’s best holiday episodes.

Years later, Angela asked Andy if “The Little Drummer Boy” could be their wedding song. Shocked by her enthusiasm, Andy agreed and noted that the song was “bigger than Christmas.”

A Unique Menu

Angela is an incredibly picky eater compared to her colleagues. Even as a vegetarian, there are multiple things that she doesn’t enjoy and makes known to the office. (Although Michael Scott wins for drinking and eating the weirdest things.)

According to their wedding website, it looks like Angela and Andy solidified a menu. Andy wrote that their meal won’t “contain any meat, fish, or spices.” He hilariously continued writing, “No matter what we serve for dinner, it will pale in comparison to [Angela’s] radiant beauty. Also, there’s a steakhouse down the road, so maybe we could have dinner there the night before.”

Angela’s Cats Were Involved

Angela loves her cats and had 12 throughout the series. There was Princess Lady, Lumpy, Petals, and her beloved Sprinkles, among others. And funny enough, it looked like Angela wanted her cats involved in their wedding.

On the couple’s wedding website, Andy noted that they would have eight ring bearers — her cats. “Angela is going to tether 7 of the cats, all wearing matching suits, to a little red wagon,” wrote Andy. It’s a possible scene like this that has fans wishing Andy and Angela got married just so they could see it.

What’s On Their Gift Registry?

Not long before Andy found out that Angela and Dwight were sleeping together, he was upset with his colleagues for not RSVPing to their wedding. But since everyone knew that Angela was sleeping with Dwight, they didn’t RSVP because they didn’t think it was happening.

When the wedding was eventually called off, the office didn’t have to worry about getting a gift off the registry. The gifts on their registry included cat trees, cat-themed dishes, a high-tech karaoke machine, and noise-canceling headphones, to name a few. Their list makes it easy to see which person asked for what.
