Micahel Scott from The Office might be the main character of the series, but he’s also definitely one of the most annoying. He’s extremely self-absorbed, socially awkward, and often rude. While he might have his good moments, he consistently made audiences cringe. Michael does a lot of obnoxious things throughout the series to the extent that it’s hard to narrow them down. However, we’ve done just that.

Here are the ten most annoying things that Michael Scott ever did.

10 The time he revealed Stanley was having an affair

Michael is notoriously very bad at keeping secrets, and he often reveals things that he shouldn’t. He loves to be the center of attention, and he likes to share gossip. But, the worst example of when he ran his mouth is the time he revealed to everyone, including Stanley’s wife, that Stanley had been having an affair. While having an affair is not a good thing, it definitely wasn’t Michael’s place to reveal this information.

9 When he tried to plant drugs on Toby

Michael’s complete hatred of Toby might be made out to be funny, but it truthfully got to be really annoying. He often took things too far and made it a pretty hostile work environment for Toby. One of the worst things he did to Toby, however, was when he tried to plant drugs on him. While he didn’t get actual drugs, the fact that he tried to frame him and called the cops on him is terrible. This was completely out of line and a horrible thing to do along with being annoying.

8 The way he constantly harassed his female employees, especially Pam

Michael Scott was a pretty horrible boss a lot of the time and some of the worst things he did relate to how he treated his employees. He could be racist and homophobic, and he was often sexist. The ladies usually got the worst of it.

His sexism went beyond just a few random comments, however, it also extended to sexual harassment. Pam often had to deal with him trying to date her and kiss her, and he typically made comments about how his employees looked.

7 Trying to insert himself in his employee’s lives, particularly their weddings

Michale was always looking for love and approval, but he went about it in very obnoxious ways. He was extremely pushy and crossed a lot of boundaries. He was always trying to be more important in their lives than was acceptable for a boss. He often talked about the employees of Dunder Mifflin as being members of his family, and he even tried to act like family at times. When both Phyllis and Pam got married, he tried to be a more important member of the wedding than he should’ve.

6 Acting immature when Phyllis wanted to be Santa

Michale had many annoying qualities, and the fact that he was extremely immature was one of the worst. He wanted to get his way and be the one getting attention, and how he went about that was extremely annoying. When Phyllis got to be Santa one year after Jim getting permission from Jim, Michael basically threw a fit. This is just one example of how he would make work events about himself, and he was always making things awkward for his employees.

5 How he would fake fire people

Micahel enjoyed getting a reaction out of people to the extent that he would lie and make up stories just to see how people would react. One of the worst examples of this is how he would often fake fire people. He did this to Pam before eventually pulling it again with Erin. It’s clear that Michael didn’t really care that much about how his actions would impact his employees, and instead would just do mean things in order to get a reaction and be entertained.

4 The way he constantly needed attention and reassurance

Micahel was a very deeply insecure person. He was never good at making friends, and he craved being accepted. While this isn’t annoying in and of itself, the ways he acted because of this were definitely annoying.

He would insert himself into situations where he wasn’t wanted, and he would cross lines and boundaries that made people uncomfortable. There were examples of this in every season.

3 Freaking out after he burned his foot on the George Foreman grill

One of the funniest episodes of The Office is the one where Micahel burns his foot on a George Foreman grill. While this wouldn’t be a pleasant experience, the way Micahel acts about it is super annoying. He acts like he’s been gravely injured, and he wants to be pampered and babied. When Dwight gets a concussion and needs to go to the hospital, Micahel still tries to make everything about himself.

2 The different characters that he would put on

Micahel was also very annoying in the ways that he would waste time and joke around at work. These antics would make it so his employees couldn’t get work done. While some of the characters he would put on were harmless, many of them were also super offensive. He made fun of many different races, people’s weights, and more. This made these characters both annoying as well as offensive. This is just one example of Michael’s many annoying traits often being rather gross upon further inspection.

1 Scott’s Tots

This is one of the moments where Micahel made audiences cringe. This was a super obnoxious thing that Michael did as well as one of the worst things he ever did. He promised to pay for college for a class of kindergartners, and then, instead of following through or even just admitting earlier on he couldn’t afford it, he let these students believe they had college paid for. The way he then acted like somewhat of a victim in this situation was super frustrating.
