Netflix recently released its second season of the horror drama, The Order. Netflix has become known for developing supernatural shows that have a bit of everything to pique one’s curiosity. The Order certainly shocked fans enough to keep watching past its first season.

The show deals with complicated young love, betrayal, revenge and the oncoming threat of the supernatural world. Not to mention a secret magical society that protects the balance of the world. What’s not to love? An aspect of the show that also makes it worth watching is its snappy and witty humor. For fans of the show looking for a new binge series, here’s some shows that will certainly catch your interest.

10 Hemlock Grove (2013)

Hemlock Grove was a series that caught some fans’ eyes. Netflix took on the show in 2013 and later renewed it for three seasons. The show had a lot of story elements similar to The Order. For example, the dark allure of the supernatural as gruesome murders occur in a small Pennsylvania town.

Above all, the show had an exceptional level of intrigue, as the main characters all had their own secrets hidden in the shadows. Don’t worry, this show also takes a dark and twisted turn on vampires and werewolves. To spice things up, the show also involves the workings of a secret cult hellbent on eradicating the supernatural creatures that roam Hemlock Grove.

9 Chambers (2019)

Audiences are raving about the Netflix show, Chambers. Some would consider surviving death by receiving a heart transplant a miracle, but not in this show. A teenage girl suffers a heart attack and receives a donor’s heart, but her life starts to unravel. She starts to become consumed by visions and the mystery behind where her heart came from.

The show is an eerie psychological horror show that has fans wanting more after every episode. While some reviews say that the show is a slow start, its worth the watch, as each episode only intensifies in supernatural mystery.

8 Van Helsing (2016)

Unlike The Order, Van Helsing is in a different realm of the supernatural.  It may not deal with teenage love drama or college professors, but it does deal with the oncoming threat of supernatural beings. Van Helsing follows the story of the daughter of the famous vampire hunter after waking up five years into a vampire uprising.

She becomes humanity’s only chance at survival as she becomes the key to eradicating the vampires once and for all. The show is tantalizing, with its main characters and its comical and witty moments. The show is worth a watch when looking for anything new in the supernatural genre.

7 Grimm (2011)

The fantasy drama Grimm had a big audience back in 2011 up until its end in 2017. The show is more of a fantasy police procedural show, but gives fans of The Order everything they would love to watch. A police detective discovers that he is part of a long lineage of warriors known as Grimms.

He swears to protect the city from magical creatures known as the Wesen. The show deals with a bit of everything, from the most bizarre otherworldly monsters to helping the world steer clear of the dangers of the supernatural.

6 The Umbrella Academy (2019)

The Umbrella Academy gained considerable traction after the release of its first season, and fans are already waiting in anticipation for the second. The show is based on the comic book series of the same name. This show doesn’t deal with the supernatural, but instead focuses on a family of superheroes.

A reason for The Order fans to watch the show is because it still holds the element on impeding world doom, with some humor thrown in. In a dysfunctional family, adopted siblings grow apart after years of being superheroes. They come together to solve the murder of their father, but by the end of the season much more is at stake. It could change the future balance of the world.

5 Charmed (2018)

There might be some debate on whether or not the new Charmed series lives up to the original cult classic show from 1998. But in relation to The Order, the new 2018 series fits better. The show deals with three sisters, who after the death of their mother by a dark force, learn of their magical abilities.

Each sister has their own unique ability and uses their powers as The Charmed Ones to protect the innocent from demons and the dark forces. The modern reboot fits better with the dynamics in The Order, dealing with close bonds and the implications of magical powers in the world of the supernatural.

4 Nancy Drew (2019)

Nancy Drew is on the other side of the spectrum of the supernatural compared to The Order. The show revamps the classic mystery novels into a chilling new series. Nancy Drew’s (Kennedy McMann) college future is put on hold when she finds herself amidst a murder that she and her friends witnessed.

The show takes a unique turn as it becomes much more than just about solving mysteries. It interweaves a supernatural element as the storylines start to involve ghosts and phantasmal entities. Throw in some teenage drama and its a good watch on any night.

3 Legacies (2018)

When The Vampire Diaries ended its run, it set up the storyline for a spinoff series, Legacies. It also ties in characters from The Originals. This series took the popular characters on a different adventure. It focuses on Klaus’s (Joseph Morgan) teenage daughter, who harbors the bloodlines of a werewolf, witch, and vampire.

She attends the Salvatore school for supernaturally gifted youth. It runs along the same lines of The Order, minus the secret magical society. At a boarding school for supernatural youth, there’s bound to be some complex and dangerous storylines and even more complicated love stories.

2 The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina (2018)

Sabrina is back but better than ever, and this time she’s in a dark coming-of-age story. The show, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, is based on the popular Archie comic book series. Unlike the previous rendition of the character, this time she must deal with dark forces and the Dark Lord.

Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) must decide her future as a half-witch, half-mortal. Along the way, she must use her magic to fight off the evil forces that threaten her and her loved ones. Not to mention, come to terms with her sinister bloodline and deal with young love.

1 The Magicians (2015)

If looking for a more dark and brooding version of The Order, then The Magicians is the best option. The shows can be considered siblings when it comes to storyline. The Magicians involves individuals who have what it takes to be admitted into a secret university whose purpose is to train them in the art of magic.

Harboring the forces of magic can be tricky, and if used improperly or taken advantage of can change the balance of the world. Everything has its price. The show follows a group of friends as they learn magic, but also derail the natural order of the magical world.
