It’s been a while since The Outer Worlds graced game consoles and PCs, but it goes without saying that this game is unforgettable, thanks in part to its incredibly charismatic companions. Felix is the epitome of an excitable lost puppy who thinks he has it all planned out. Many players know that’s far from the case after learning a lot about him and his past through the companion quests and many battles in the wastelands of Halcyon.

Despite all the information he likes to dump on the player, there are some fun trivia bits and facts about Felix that fans may have missed. Some of them may just change your opinion on him altogether, whereas others are more likely to just make the player want to give this game another playthrough, or just go see what the DLC looks like.

10 He’s An Orphan

Some fans will think Felix being an orphan is an obvious one, but it really depends on how invested in Felix’s story the player actually is. When asked about his family by Parvati or during his companion quest, he reveals he is in fact an orphan. It’s not life-changing information, but it’s sad to see how lonely he was before coming onto The Unreliable.

However, in typical Felix fashion, he seems positive about it, letting the player and Parvarti know that he views not having a family as a good thing, as it means he can’t be pinned down or controlled, something everyone knows is the worst thing Felix can be.

9 He’s A Thief

After the introduction of companions like SAM and Parvarti, many players leave Felix behind, and therefore never learn about his background fully, which is a shame, as it’s full of brash decisions, tossball games, and his ‘smash the system’ philosophy that just lands him in trouble wherever he goes.

If the player does bring Felix along, they’ll learn his past as a thief, which really makes sense when he tells you why he wants to join your ship. When speaking to Junlei Tennyson, the player will find out that he got caught stealing some ‘spare parts’ from a ship a few years before. He says it was a one-time thing, but, knowing Felix, the player should definitely remember to keep an eye on their stuff.

8 He May Be Styled After PewDiePie

It’s undeniable that Felix has that familiar look about him. While nothing has actually been confirmed, the resemblance is definitely uncanny.

They are both excitable and share a similar motive to not be tied down by corporations, with PewDiePie being famous for following his own ideas to be free to make his own decisions. They also look pretty similar, and, of course, share the same first name . It’s entirely possible that Felix is a nod to the superstar YouTuber and would be pretty cool if it were true.

7 He’s Perfect For Stealth

Fans of games like Fallout 4 or Cyberpunk 2077 are typically also fans of The Outer Worlds, and everyone knows that the best way to play a game like this is with a Sniper Rifle and stealth, or the complete opposite when science weapons are introduced.

If it’s Snipers and stealth the players looking for, then look no further than bringing Felix on as a companion! He increases your lockpicking, persuasion, and, more importantly, your sneak attributes, which gives the player the perfect edge over those unsuspecting enemies or innocent civilians.

6 Great Companion Perks

Not only is Felix a wonderful addition for a stealthy player, but the companion perks are something that gets easily missed or forgotten about when it comes to Felix. He has a series of wonderful perks that are just perfect for any style of gameplay and really make him the companion that many are missing out on.

While there are only three, his perks are varied and useful, especially if the player shares the same morals as Felix. These perks are:

  • Bonus Support Persuade: +10 Persuade
  • Bootlickers!: +20 Damage to Cowering Enemies
  • Rebellion: +20 Damage to Corporate Military

5 He’s Loyal

Interestingly, despite Felix always saying that he never wants to be tied down or told what to do, he’s surprisingly loyal towards the player and the ship.

There is a part of the main questline in which the player has to choose to either side with the board or go against it. Many fans of Felix would be concerned that siding with the board would cause Felix to leave the ship forever; after all, he hates the board and would never take orders from them. That being said, if the player chooses to side with the board, he will simply remark that he wasn’t paid to think and continue with his loyalty.

4 His Companion Ability Is Hilarious

Companion abilities can save your life on multiple occasions, but what’s so great about them is how different they are for each companion. For example, for Parvarti, it’s Overload, which is where she slams down her awesome hammer, creating a blast wave that shocks enemies and stuns automechanicals. It’s pretty badass and can really help a panicked situation.

However, Felix, true to his nature, has an ability called Dropkick, and it does exactly what it says on the tin. Felix shouts something stupid, runs at his target, leaps into the air, and slams into the target with both feet. It’s hilarious to watch and somewhat effective, but most have it for the entertainment factor.

3 Voiced by Jonathan Silver

Felix was voiced by a man named Jonathan Silver, which isn’t really someone that would ring a bell to many fans. However, he’s voiced characters like Arun Singh in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and has taken part in games spanning from Assassins Creed, Far Cry, and For Honor, which ultimately makes him a pretty seasoned voice actor.

Not only has he voiced loads of videogame characters, but he’s starred in series like Suits, Being Human, Sons of God and so much more. The likelihood is that you’ve seen or heard the voice of Felix more times than you expected.

2 Once A Criminal Always A Criminal

One of the best things about The Outer Worlds is its many endings and choices that all form a bit of a butterfly effect. Unless Felix is killed, the player will almost always see him going off into the future of the changed Halcyon as a not-so-changed man. He will continue to be the impulsive and defensive guy he is if the player kicks him out, and he will continue to be that way if the player lets him go at any point before the end of the game.

Luckily, if the player completes the game with Felix, he’ll stay the way he is, but he won’t commit any more thefts or assaults… as far as the players aware.

1 Hates Corporate But Loves Their Stuff

One of the best things about The Outer Worlds is their attention to detail—specifically, the companions’ bedrooms, which help the player learn more about them, as well as making it just feel a little more homely. Interestingly, Felix’s bedroom is filled with a considerable amount of corporate things.

Call him a thief or call him sentimental, but surely if he was so passionate about abolishing the corporate companies that run the place then he would also be rejecting all their money-grabbing attempts and merchandise and other items? Apparently not; he likes his tossball and movies a bit more than his hatred for everything corporate.
