“You’re Welcome,” the catchy and playful Moana song performed by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, just reached quadruple platinum status – but that does not mean The Rock’s daughter believes it’s her dad singing. The former WWE champion revealed his incredible musical talents to the world in 2016 when he was cast in Moana as Maui, the devious shape-shifting demigod who stole the heart of Te Fiti. He meets Moana (Auli’i Cravalho) after she escapes her secluded village of Motunui in order to find the heart and return it. The film was a huge success for Disney, earning praise for its cultural accuracy, jaw-dropping animation, and strong heroine whose storyline does not revolve around a love interest.

The movie’s scene for “You’re Welcome” features Maui singing to Moana about everything he has provided for humans, explaining the origins of Moana’s world based on actual Polynesian legends. The catchy lyrics and beautiful visuals manage to distract Moana until suddenly the singing is over and she’s trapped inside a cave. “You’re Welcome” is one of the most popular songs of the soundtrack, second only to Cravalho’s “How Far I’ll Go.”

“You’re Welcome” has now reached quadruple platinum certification and Johnson credits his 2 year-old daughter, Tia, as the reason for hitting this significant milestone. In an Instagram post, Johnson thanks Lin Manuel Miranda for writing the song and all the fans for listening. But his biggest thank you goes to his “2 year old boss, Baby Tia” for being the “real reason” that the song has reached quadruple platinum status –even if she doesn’t believe it is him singing. Johnson has posted multiple videos of him performing Tia’s favorite fast-paced verse in the song, always pausing multiple times to let her finish the lyrics and asking her at the end if he is the voice of Maui. Her response is always an adorable “no.” You can see his recent recording of it below:

He also admits that he lost his usual cool and calm demeanor when he heard the news. In the Instagram post, he mentions that his reaction was, “HOLY S*** MY SONG WENT QUADRUPLE F***ING PLATINUM??” This was another interesting insight into Johnson’s new life; for those who grew up following his wrestling career, it can be baffling to see him as a tamed father and an icon among children.

“You’re Welcome” reaching 4X platinum is no small feat, but it is perhaps unsurprising considering Moana‘s massive success.  This positive reception could mean that fans will get a second film, but at this point that is purely speculation. However, Disney has made sequels to animated films such as Wreck-it Ralph and Frozen. If another Moana film does come, it will not be for another few years, and probably by then, Tia will have finally accepted that her dad is the voice of Maui.
