The actor had a bright future as a football player, but, unfortunately, after a severe back injury, he was left paralyzed for two weeks, and, as a result of this, his sports career came to a fast end. When he decided to become an actor, he chose the name Lee Majors as his stage name after the famous coach of the Tennessee Volunteers, Johnny Majors.
