It’s not really a surprise that another superhero comic book adaptation, The Umbrella Academy, has gained a great amount of popularity in just a year or so on Netflix. The show shot to life in 2019 and it hasn’t looked back since, with the second season receiving comparatively better reviews from the series opener.

One of the most integral parts of The Umbrella Academy, Robert Sheehan’s Klaus Hargreeves, is, arguably, the most addictive character on the show and someone without whom this series just cannot be imagined. Klaus is a very complex human being who doesn’t give any hints as to what he is thinking or what he is planning to do, thus raising some important questions about himself in the process.

10 What’s His Relationship History?

Although Klaus doesn’t openly share his feelings with everyone, he makes that expression with his face which tells everyone that he has gone through a heartbreak. After finding the time-traveling briefcase in Umbrella Academy‘s first season, he traveled back in time to meet a soldier called Dave before falling in love with him. But, Dave died, thanks to a bullet from the enemy, and Klaus was left with regret and negative thoughts. Right now, he is single.

9 What’s The Best Thing He Has Done?

Klaus is such a sweetheart, to be honest, but he usually finds himself in precarious situations and his decision-making makes those situations even worse. There aren’t many good things he has done for himself or for others but the best thing he could have done is giving an already dead Ben Hargreeves all the support he needed. Klaus is also the reason why Ben was able to meet with his family. And it’s heartwarming, to say the least.

8 What’s The Worst Thing He Has Done?

There is a whole list of bad things that Klaus Hargreeves has done to himself and his family but none of it compares to the huge facade he was able to build around his presence in season two.

Using his obvious powers, he brainwashed loads of young people into thinking that he is some kind of a Prophet or something. Not only did he manage to ruin their lives over nothing, but he also didn’t have the courage to tell all of them that whatever he said was false.

7 How’s His Relationship With Sir Reginald Hargreeves?

Honestly, Klaus Hargreeves shares a pretty decent relationship with his father, Sir Reginald Hargreeves, although he hates him for what he put Klaus through during his childhood. After dying in season one, Klaus met up with Sir Reginald in the afterlife and that suggested just how serious Klaus’ powers can get. Sir Reginald only ever wanted Klaus to reach his full potential but the way he went about it wasn’t warranted, at all.

6 Is He The Funniest Character In The Series?

The answer to this question is a resounding yes. Klaus, as a character, is absolutely magnificent to watch, thanks to his genuinely funny remarks over everything happening with him and his siblings. The physical comedy he does is out of the charts. Add to that his ability to make a dangerous situation look like nothing makes him the perfect tonic that fans require to stay hooked to the show and the rather serious storyline.

5 What Are His Powers?

Klaus has only one power but the potential his powers can reach is still unknown and going by what Sir Reginald Hargreeves said in the afterlife, it seems Klaus has some more gears to find. Basically, Klaus can conjure up the dead, and not only that, but he can also bring their presence to the living world as he did with Ben Hargreeves at the end of season one. Moreover, Klaus can also let ghosts possess his body. Ben did that, as well.

4 Is He Childish Or Mature?

The biggest reason why Klaus is so funny and addictive to watch is that he is a proper child, who doesn’t like to live up to the expectations of his family and would rather avoid becoming an adult because of all the responsibilities that come with it.

It’s not as if he can’t be mature because he shows some signs of maturity every now and then, although these moments come few and far between. It’s a delight for the fans, though, and hopefully, Klaus doesn’t wise up in season three.

3 Why Does He Love To Be High?

One of the worst things Sir Reginald Hargreeves could have done to Klaus was to leave him in a dark room full of hurting souls seeking answers from a small kid. He was bound to be afraid of his powers when he grew up and whenever he is high, he doesn’t see those hurting souls begging for answers. That’s the reason why he wants to be high and loves to be high. He doesn’t like to think about things and talk about his feelings. He just wants to forget all the noise in the world.

2 Where Does He Rank Among His Siblings In Terms Of Powers?

Klaus might not be the strongest character in The Umbrella Academy but his powers make him as effective and useful as anyone. He is the only one who can add more numbers to The Umbrella Academy by summoning more people from the dead. The fans have already seen how helpful it was when Ben was summoned by Klaus. If he taps into his potential, maybe, one day he will be able to summon an army of the dead. It’s not unrealistic at all.

1 What’s His Biggest “Superhero” Moment?

Again, Klaus hasn’t had many moments in his life where he has been proud of himself. But there was one moment when he saved the world, unintentionally. When Vanya was going through her motions; about to explode again, Ben Hargreeves (who was there thanks to Klaus) went inside Vanya’s consciousness to calm her down. And in the process, Ben’s soul attained peace. It was really heartwarming stuff which was possible only because of Klaus.
