Fans of The Voice are worried long-time coach Blake Shelton is leaving after watching a TikTok video. Blake coaches the contestants on the show along with Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Ariana Grande, whom Blake is known for messing with. Blake previously joked around about leaving the show because of Ariana’s popularity. The “thank u, next” singer even posted a screenshot of a text conversation between the two. In the Instagram post, Blake sent her an article about the show replacing him with newer stars like Ariana. Under the link, he jokingly thanked her for “replacing” him. Ariana responded by liking both of his texts.

Not only do Blake and Ariana joke around with each other, but Kelly also pretended to shame the country singer for not knowing a song two contestants performed. Jim and Sasha Allen, who are on Ariana’s team, sang “Home” by Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros. While Blake liked both the song and the performance, he admitted to never hearing the melody before. Both Ariana and Kelly were confused by this, and Kelly jokingly shamed Blake for not knowing the song.

The official TikTok account for The Voice posted a video of Blake eating a whole layer of cake to celebrate the 500th episode. Blake has been on every season of The Voice for the past 10 years, so he’s also celebrating the same milestone for the show. “I’ve been here for 500 episodes. I’ve earned it,” Blake told his fellow coaches in the video. “I’ll be out there in a minute.” Kelly, John and Ariana let Blake finish his cake by himself, with Ariana joking, “It’s a single serving.” Blake also shared a video celebrating his 500 episodes on Twitter. “Guess what y’all?! It’s the 500th episode of @nbcthevoice tonight!! I’m gonna have my cake and eat it too #TheVoice,” Blake wrote. However, Blake celebrating this milestone also worried fans into thinking this season might be his last.

Fans of The Voice and Blake shared their opinions on social media. “If Blake doesn’t come back I’ll stop watching for sure,” one fan commented on the TikTok (via Good Housekeeping). The Voice has featured a revolving door of coaches around Blake, including his now-wife, Gwen Stefani. Another fan wrote, “If he leaves [the] show won’t be the same. He makes the show, it’s why millions watch. His humor is attractive.” Adding to the theory, Blake said that he and Gwen are ready to step out of the spotlight while on the Today show.

While fans may miss coaches that leave the show, it also opens up opportunities for new stars to take their place. Ariana is a great addition to the show, and The Voice season 21 is her first. Even though some fans are worried about Blake leaving, there hasn’t been a formal announcement that this season is his last, just that he’s celebrating the ride so far. Based on Blake’s popularity, and his tenure on the show, he could be in it for the long haul.

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
