Coached by John Legend, Maelyn Jarmon delivered a series of phenomenal performances on The Voice season 16 and was crowned the winner at the grand finale. The fans were introduced to Maelyn as a 26-year-old folk/pop singer from Frisco, Texas. Maelyn was off to a great when all four coaches turned their red chairs for her Blind Audition performance of Sting’s “Fields of Gold”. At the time, Maelyn could have chosen between coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend. She ultimately decided that Team Legend was the best fit for herself.

As The Voice season 16 moved forward, Maelyn Jarmon had to face a series of obstacles and survive several rounds in the competition. For one, Maelyn performed Adele’s “When We Were Young” in the Battle rounds and won over co-star Savannah Brister. Then, in the Cross Battles phase of the season, Maelyn’s performance to “Mad World” by Tears For Fears went on to defeat singer Rod Stokes. In the Play-offs, Maelyn performed Maggie Rogers’ “Fallingwater” and got enough votes from the public to move forward on the show. In the live shows, Maelyn performed Coldplay’s “The Scientist”, Rihanna’s “Stay”, and Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”.
