Marvel officially confirms Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Mighty Thor’s (Natalie Portman) respective new costumes in Thor: Love and Thunder. As its release date nears, tie-in merchandise for the film has started rolling in. So while the official marketing for the blockbuster hasn’t begun, toys and other products are giving fans an idea of what to expect from the project.

With Marvel Studios still holding off with the release of the much-anticipated first look at Thor: Love and Thunder, tie-in merchandise has unveiled the costumes and even set pieces for the film. According to new toys, Thor will still wield Stormbreaker, but he will have a more vibrant suit. Meanwhile, Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor also gets a battle costume that’s similar to her looks in the comics and in line with the Asgardians’ aesthetic in the MCU. The most interesting part of her ensemble, however, is her clearly broken and repaired Mjölnir.

Now, however, Marvel officially confirms that the looks for both Thor and Mighty Thor from Thor: Love and Thunder‘s merchandise will indeed be how the characters will appear in the film. As per Marvel.com, “LEGO has revealed the first building set inspired by the upcoming film.” The same article cites a Good Morning America segment where it debuted “brand new Hasbro figures and toys, including three new additions to the Titan Hero Series and battle FX roleplay items.” Check out the images below:

Thor’s new costume in Thor: Love and Thunder appears to be more vibrant than initially revealed. But it makes sense that Marvel Studios would want to drastically change his aesthetic considering Mighty Thor’s more traditional look. Perhaps it’s also a visual indication that the God of Thunder has fully embraced his true self who’s more of an adventurer than the King of Asgard which is still his birthright. His time with the Guardians of the Galaxy more likely helped him become a more fun version of himself.

Still, arguably the most fascinating detail in these toys is Jane’s broken Mjölnir. Not much is known about the character’s arc in Thor: Love and Thunder, but it’s expected that Marvel Studios is mining story inspiration from Jason Aaron’s fan-favorite Mighty Thor comic book narrative. Considering the fact that the mystical hammer has been clearly patched back up after it was destroyed, chances are that it was the same one that Thor wielded for the most part of the Infinity Saga before Hela (Cate Blanchett) crushed it. Assuming that this is the case, it’s curious how Jane was able to retrieve the pieces of the weapon and most importantly, how it was put back together. Maybe, Peter Dinklage’s Eitri gets involved and melds it back together. After all, the actor recently teased his return to the MCU.
