In his ongoing battle against the God of Hammers, Thor just received a big assist courtesy of Lady Sif, as the Guardian of the Bifrost lent the hero her sword, Hofund, after his weapon shattered. In a new preview for Thor #23, the Odin-Forced power All-Father reaches out to Lady Sif for help as the God of Hammers destroys his weapon, leading him to obtain her sword and control of the Bifrost.

Lady Sif is a key ally to Thor, as the warrior-goddess has fought alongside the God of Thunder on many occasions. However, Lady Sif became the new Guardian of the Bifrost after the death of her brother Heimdall following the War of the Realms event. In her role, she has continued to be a valuable ally to Thor (despite being forced to fight him during the Black Winter saga) and protector of the Rainbow Bridge. Now, Lady Sif is coming through in the clutch again, as Thor seeks out her help in his epic fight against the living embodiment of Mjolnir, the God of Hammers.

In a new preview for Thor #23 by Donny Cates, Nic Klein, Matt Wilson, and VC’s Joe Sabino, Thor channels his new Odin-Force powers against the God of Hammers. Still reeling from the loss of his father, Thor smashes his sword against the Mangog-Mjolnir villain, leading him to call for help from Lady Sif. The protector of the Rainbow Bridge warns Thor about overextending his new powers while agreeing to give him her sword, Hofund, to take on the villain.

Thor reaches to the sky as Hofund emerges from the Bifrost into his hand. The God of Thunder thanks Lady Sif, promising to return her weapon after defeating the God of Hammers. Thor immediately uses Hofund to his full advantage, summoning the Bifrost as he points his sword towards his opponent.

With his Odin-Force powers and Hofund and the Bifrost at his control, Thor is better equipped than ever to take down the God of Hammers. Once again, Lady Sif has proven to be one of the God of Thunder’s most trusted allies as she delivered her weapon to the All-Father when he needed it most. When the God of Hammers saga is over, Thor owes Lady Sif a big-time thanks, as he surely wouldn’t be able to defeat the living embodiment of Mjolnir (combined with Mangog) without her help. Thor #23 by Marvel Comics is in comic book stores Wednesday.
