Stunning Ellie and Dina cosplay based on The Last of Us Part II has received developer Naughty Dog‘s seal of approval. Ellie’s and Dina’s love story in TLoU 2 counts among the more heartwarming aspects of the lengthy and often harrowing experience. A new addition to The Last of Us universe, Dina enters the mix as one of Ellie’s most trusted friends. As the story unfolds, the duo obviously grows into something much more.

Dina serves as more than the lead character’s love interest, though. Many would argue that she acts as the moral center of the overarching narrative, softening Ellie’s hardened exterior in a way that players of the first game may find familiar when considering the Ellie and Joel dynamic. And while the young couple regularly finds themselves narrowly escaping danger at almost every turn, they enjoy a fair few quieter moments that make the hardships worthwhile. Interestingly enough, a pair of The Last of Us Part 2 cosplayers managed to capture that much and more in a single image.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Cosplayers meowmei (Ellie) and alice.wake.95 (Dina) joined forces to create couples photos honoring the love between The Last of Us Part 2’s Ellie and Dina. One photo, in particular, captured the attention of Naughty Dog, whose official Twitter account shared the “picture perfect” shot in a recent post. The cosplay image depicts Ellie and Dina lying in the grass, cuddled together and staring at each other lovingly. At a quick glance, the photo almost looks like it a screenshot from the sequel itself. Check it out in the tweet linked below:

This definitely warrants consideration as some of the most impressive The Last of Us cosplay to date. And both of the cosplayers’ Instagram accounts feature additional images of the two in character as Ellie and Dina. It’s neat that even a year-plus after its release, the sequel continues to inspire creative efforts within the community.

Sony and Naughty Dog shipped The Last of Us Part 2 in June 2020, nearly four years after its unveiling at PSX 2016. Now the wait is on for Factions, The Last of Us‘ multiplayer suite that seems as though it will eventually return to the spotlight as a standalone experience. As of writing, nothing from the online component has seen the light of day.

The Last of Us Part II is available to play now on PS4 and PS5.
