Tom Holland hopes to see a future team-up between Spider-Man and Daredevil in the MCU. Spider-Man: No Way Home is a box-office sensation as it is now the fourth highest-grossing film of all time at the domestic box office and has grossed $1.7 billion worldwide. The film brings back numerous characters from past Spider-Man films and even includes another Marvel hero who has close connections to Spider-Man in the comics that have generated a lot of interest.

For the first time in three years since Daredevil’s cancelation at Netflix, Charlie Cox reprised his role as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home as Peter Parker’s lawyer who gets him cleared of murder charges. The scene is brief, and while Cox does not suit up as Daredevil, the scene does offer a hint that Peter’s lawyer is more than he appears as the blind attorney catches a brick that crashes through the building. Since the character’s appearance, rumors have begun to circulate about Daredevil’s next future appearance ranging from various Disney+ series like Echo and She-Hulk.

In a recent interview with THR, Holland spoke about how great it was to work with Cox. Holland admits to being a big fan of the Daredevil series, and expresses how great it was to see him reprise his role. The actor also admitted he would like to see Spider-Man and Daredevil team up in a future film, even hinting that the character’s role in Spider-Man: No Way Home was only just the beginning. Holland said:

“Working with Charlie was incredibly exciting. I was a big fan of the Daredevil series, and I think he’s a fantastic actor. He’s done a wonderful job with that character, and albeit it was a small cameo, it obviously teased the future of what could be…It was really cool to see him snap back into a character that I am really a fan of and that he has a lot of love for, obviously. So it was pretty awesome, and I hope that one day we find a way for Spider-Man and Daredevil to team up again.”

While no word on a future Spider-Man movie has been made official, given the popularity of the character and the massive box office intake of the latest entry, an announcement is likely coming soon. Marvel Studios appears to be working on integrating the various parts of the Netflix series into the MCU in a way they never could before, with a special emphasis on the Daredevil franchise, as the same week Spider-Man: No Way Home hit theaters, Vincent D’Onofrio reprised his role as Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. The Kingpin in Hawkeye. The audience interest is there as Daredevil viewership spiked after the appearances by both characters in the MCU despite the fact the series ended in 2018.

The ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home teased the next entry in the Spider-Man franchise could be a smaller scale film, with Peter Parker now working on his own and cut off from most of his support systems, like his friends or other Avengers. Daredevil and Spider-Man have a rich history together in the comics given they are both street-level-based heroes operating in New York, and their villains tend to overlap. A grounded crime film with Spider-Man taking on various forms of organized crime could be a nice change of pace for the franchise and a natural way to bring in Daredevil as a supporting player in the film. It appears the stage is perfectly set for a Spider-Man and Daredevil team-up film.
